BookIt Reviews-Arthur “Bud” Finlaw
Arthur “Bud” Finlaw

The travel company that knows the value of the Internet as a livelihood: BookIt was established in 2000 by Arthur “Bud” Finlaw who serves as the company’s CEO as well. It all began in a garage office with a single employee: his son, Jamin Finlaw. Now, BookIt has its own headquarters in Panama City Beach, Florida. BookIt is working to provide travellers the best online travel experience by offering deeply discounted travel arrangements, the best web interface, and fantastic guest service. But, let’s see about that. In this review, let’s check the services and credibility of BookIt.

What is BookIt?

The interface of BookIt looks calm with the mood expressed by the background image. Their design promotes the idea of vacations, since their target audience are people looking for leisure time. Booking flights, hotels, and car rentals is done online or through calling their customer support.
BookIt Reviews-page
BookIt encourages their customers to create an account and become a member of Bookit. Members can modify their bookings and save past booking information; they can also receive exclusive offers, signing up is free. Like other travel sites, BookIt is a search engine for booking flights, hotel accommodations, vacation packages, and activities.

BookIt Reviews-mobile appThe search and compare functionality can now be done via smartphones too. BookIt has a travel app for a more convenient way of managing travel itineraries. Direction guidelines are also provided for customers to map out their plans. BookIt is in the middle of improving their application for the sake of all customers. The travel app of BookIt is available in the App Store and Google Play Store. They also offer “Exclusive App-Only” rates.

BookIt has a newsletter service wherein customers can sign up and receive the latest deals offered on BookIt directly in their inbox. This service includes the “Sign up to receive up to $150 instant savings.” I wonder what’s the catch with the “up to $150 instant savings.”

BookIt Reviews of Customers

Is it me or are the reviews posted on Trustpilot about BookIt too many? 12,610 BookIt reviews are shown. I am sensing some fraudulent action here. Are they trying to make fake comments to keep their numbers high? Even Expedia has just a thousand reviews, but 12,000+ is really doubtful. Even the overall rating shows as 7.9/10, I am not in the slight convinced that they are reliable. BookIt doesn’t look legit at all.

Looking back at some of the customer reviews,  I can say that their booking framework still has a lot of opportunities to get better.

System glitches are a huge issue, especially for online exchanges including money. Speaking of improvements, their customer service is one of the big problems here. Ignoring customers’ concern is a big no-no in the travel industry.

Gogobot Reviews

Travel sites are really seen everywhere on the world wide web now. Just type in destinations and a bunch of online travel agencies will pop-up and promote their current deals and offers. Isn’t it tiring to understand which of which? This scenario also goes to several travel startups showing up recently. In 2010, Ori Zaltzman and Travis Katz had founded Gogobot. How does it differ with other travel website? It’s simple, they don’t promote bookings. In this review, we’ll be talking about Gogobot.

What is Gogobot?
Gogobot was actually considered the social network of travellers. Maybe by now you got an idea how it works. Well, basically Gogobot provides customers different reviews, photographs and experiences of travellers on a specific destination. Indeed, initially it will let you search for “Where you want to go?”, but not to lure you with a list of search-compare bookings. Customers can search, learn and discover destinations, hotels, restaurants and more.
Gogobot Reviews-page
Gogobot Reviews-mobile appThe mission of Gogobot is to help travellers to discover great places, activities to do. The company has been recognized for being Best Travel Apps/Sites by Time Magazine, Mashable, Travel & Leisure and more. The travel app of Gogobot is available on both App Store and Google Play Store. To learn more how to use Gogobot, the main page itself offers a “Learn How To Use” video tutorial.

Gogobot helps make every day an adventure, whether just seeking hotels in Las Vegas, Orlando or just kicking around in San Francisco, Gogobot offers personalized recommendations, based on preferred tribes, to help customers to always land in the right place. The  fifth most visited travel-planning site in the United States is a private company that follow these slogans: “Forget tomorrow, discover something new today” and “The go-to place for places to go”

Gogobot Reviews of Travellers

Out of 68 Gogobot reviews on Trustpilot, the travel destination guide site had garnered an almost perfect score of 8/10 wherein consumers had considered Gogobot as the smartest, best and most helpful travel tool. Well, I can’t blame them. Gogobot had really helped a lot of travellers on their plans and unanswered questions about a certain tourist attraction. Actual experiences from actual visitors are really more realistic and believable. To see more of these Gogobot reviews, click here.

Just like how Flyertalk had rocked our travelling world. Here comes Gogobot to help you on your travel necessities. Not for booking and accommodation, but majorly focused on providing travelling-experience information.

If you’re planning to visit a certain destination, make sure to do your research first; also try looking to book your flights using trusted and legit online travel agencies as they tend to, on average, reduce airfare costs by about 43%, a few good ones being Flighthub.com, Travelocity.com, JustFly.com or Expedia.com.

UsingMiles Reviews

UsingMiles Reviews-Krista Paul
Krista Paul

Even the own page of UsingMiles doesn’t provide any brief history of their company nor Wikipedia information showing to how or when UsingMiles started. But on Crunchbase, it is said that UsingMiles was founded in 2010 by a Krista Paul in Denver, Colorado (which pretty much links to the given head office address and contact email below). The story goes like, she started the company out of frustration of losing over 26,000 miles from an unnamed mileage program of an airline.

Join me as we discover this new managing mileage site and travel company called “UsingMiles”.

What is UsingMiles?
From the name of the company, the travel company was established to help frequent flyers to manage their loyalty program awards, points and miles. They had been the first and only award-travel site that provides this kind of service. However, they also have the option to search and book flights and hotel reservations. To be honest, I just stumbled on this site and it piqued my curiosity to how it actually works. But I got so pissed with their travel service of searching flights. I tried using their tool and it took forever loading. Like, seriously it was loading for half an hour and nothing happens.
Initially it will ask customers to sign up for their membership for FREE or Premier membership for $29.99/yr. I guess that’s too much money, even it’s just annually. Well, in exchange of that travellers will be able to manage and stay track with their miles, points and awards. But really, it doesn’t sound helpful at all. I remember customers of Amazon complaining about a 9.99 annual payment for Prime membership, I wonder what consumers of UsingMiles have to say?

UsingMiles Reviews of Consumers?
UsingMiles has several reviews shown on their front page which are not actually found online. If I were to be asked, who verified that these UsingMiles reviews are legit and not just made up? Them? We are not actually looking for negative reviews online, but at least a few ones from trusted commenting sites that we can believe are true reviewers or consumers. Because anyone can make up a “Carla (happy customer)”. I think UsingMiles is not that much being used that no customer had even generously written a review about them. Or maybe, no one had used the site at all. Free us from suspicion. Please.

YES to Miles, NO to Booking.
Just to let you know, some major airlines didn’t authorize managing mileage sites to stop keeping track of their members’ miles/points. Since some airlines find it offensive in a way. It’s like telling them their customers are not earning the right points and awards, wherein the sole purpose of the airlines’ frequent-flyer program is to provide travellers more discounts and not more payment such as the 29.99 membership by UsingMiles.

What can you say about them? Feel free to leave a comment below.

Firefly Airline Reviews

Firefly is not an online travel agency but is the low-cost subsidiary airline of Malaysia Airlines for scheduled domestic services. The first community airline was established in April 2007 and had its first inaugural flight from Penang to Kota Bharu. Even though Firefly is a full subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines it also focuses on servicing routes to Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Passengers who frequently fly with Firefly are being rewarded with miles as a member of their Enrich (miles program).

As their company logo says “Beyond Convenience”, the orange themed airline has 19 aircraft in fleet consisting of (12) ATR 72-500 and (7) ATR 72-600. These aircraft are enough to cater service to 19 destinations (as mentioned above) within Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. The airline operates from two hubs: Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and Penang International Airport.

Firefly Flying
Firefly Airline Reviews-meals
As we noticed, Firefly uses the greater than sign (>) on their company slogan as “B>yond Convenience” and that is obviously self explanatory why. Firefly has one type of service on board and this only service offers a range of exclusive airline accommodation while on air. Passengers are served with a complimentary meal and drink which has never been a complaint with previous customers.

Firefly Airline Reviews-cabin

For a low-cost airline the legroom space was not spacious but enough. Another good thing about Firefly is, there were no record of any incident or accident happened. So it’s very safe to fly with them. This gives them more points as an airline company.

Official Website and Mobile App
Firefly’s website page is modernized and easily understood. The orange and yellow colors leaves a summery and bright mood to its users. The flashing image as background promotes their current package deals and Malaysia’s tourism. On their official website, customers can search and book for flights and hotel reservations. They can also manage their booking and check-in online.
Firefly Airline Reviews-page
And yes, as expected. Firefly has mobile app which is available on both from the App Store and Google Play Store. The mobile version of services is pretty much similar to its PC version, wherein travellers can book a flight, manage their booking, check-in and access their boarding pass by just using their smartphones.

Firefly Airline Reviews of Customers
According to 49 Firefly Airline reviews, the airline had scored 7/10 on Skytrax. Thought it’s above the average score, mixed Firefly Airline reviews are being posted online regarding the inflight services of the low-cost subsidiary airline of MAS. Let us share the most trending review posted online, wherein the passenger said:
Firefly Airline Reviews-crew
“The plane was less noisy than I expected. Cabin staff was extremely professional and attentive.
The big drawback of this airline is the number of flights cancelled. Despite being a very good quality low-cost airline, it might be unsuitable to those who have time constraints.”

If I’ll be the one writing a review on Skytrax, I might give them a 8/10 score based on what we gathered and learned about Firefly. Well I haven’t flew with them, so I won’t finalize my score for them yet. But they piqued my interest and I will certainly fly with them once I visit the country of Malaysia soon this year. Besides, they are only a new airline, we shouldn’t be expecting something big within just a few years of operating.

Air Vanuatu Reviews

Vanuatu is a Pacific island state which is a perfect tourist destination. Their flag carrier “Air Vanuatu” was actually founded in 1981 shortly after their independence from UK and France. Initially, the beginning of the airline was 40% assisted by Ansett Airlines but when it was re-established in 1987, Air Vanuatu became a fully government-owned airline. The airline carries their company slogan “The friendliest smiles in the Pacific await you!”. Indeed, the Paradise of the South Pacific Ocean nation is even just a short distance from Sydney and Brisbane.
Air Vanuatu Reviews-aircraftNow, Air Vanuatu has 7 aircraft and operates at Bauerfield International Airport and follows the frequent flyer program, Qantas Frequent Flyer since the airline follows codeshare agreements with Air New Zealand, Fiji Airways and Qantas. There were only two incidents recorded in the history of the national airline of Vanuatu where all passengers in both cases were killed: the first incident (1998) was due to pilot error and the other (2008) was shrouded in thick fog at that time of the crash.

Air Vanuatu Reviews-routemapAir Vanuatu is being led by their CEO, Joseph Laloyer. But talking about world recognition, they were once nominated in 2007 by World Travel Awards as “Australasia’s Leading Airline Website”. In reference to more detailed information of Air Vanuatu’s destination, please refer to the route map image.

Flying with Air Vanuatu
Travellers have the option of services, either Economy or Business Class. The moment passengers set foot on board they are greeted with the friendly smiles of the cabin crew, not to mention their warm full services inflight. Air Vanuatu keeps their customers satisfied with their inflight entertainment downloadable on their smartphones. How? The airline has Free Wi Fi onboard dedicated to their Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Inflight magazines are offered as well.
crewAir Vanuatu Reviews-cabin
Meals are offered on board as they say “Keep your wallet in your pocket! Air Vanuatu International offers economy class passengers either a meal or snack service plus a complimentary bar service offering: wine, sparkling and beer.” Special meals by request must be done during booking and the meal option service is actually available when travellers book online. Please be notified that requests must be at least 72 hours prior to departure.

The Website
As mentioned earlier, their site had once been recognized as one of the best in Australasia. We can see why. We can say that Vanuatu is just a small island full of attraction, but at least they have the decency to be generous with their official website. In a nutshell, the page is user friendly, pleasing in the eyes and understandable. Like other airline sites, travellers can search, plan and book flight and hotel reservations.
Air Vanuatu Reviews-page
Air Vanuatu Reviews of Passengers
However, Air Vanuatu reviews are not showing the same fondness to the world renowned Vanuatu. As per 36 Air Vanuatu reviews, passengers are saying the airlines’ crew lack friendliness despite the nation of origin being known to have friendly people. The total Air Vanuatu reviews had scored 6/10, but if based on the content of the complaints, it will be 2/10. Well, to be exact the complaints are rooted mostly from the cabin crew and booking services.

In A Nutshell
Even if Air Vanuatu reviews’ ratings are showing complaints, I will still recommend Air Vanuatu as the best airline for your Vanuatu destination trip. It’s not like you don’t have a choice, I bet you’ll love the warm personality of the Melanesian. And besides, Vanuatu is one destination you shouldn’t be missing on your list of “To visit”.

Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.

In this review, we will be re-talking about AirGorilla.

AirGorilla Reviews 2016
Almost last year we wrote a review about the American based travel site. Like our weekly mantra we’ll be checking out AirGorilla as well. As we recall, AirGorilla was established in February 2001 and for some reason the only information regarding their main office is “San Diego, CA, United States”. We think that’s too general. Apart from the contact information we gathered below, the only way to access AirGorilla is only through the page itself. Not safe at all.

How does Travelocity work?
However, AirGorilla had finally updated their interface. Yes, finally. Though the services are similar with the old one. Pretty standard search, compare and book. Now, it also gives a list of other online travel agencies customers can search on, shown at the right wing of the page.
In this review, we tried making a search using from Boston, MA to Amsterdam, Netherlands on 04/11/2016 to 04/15/2016. AirGorilla provides two pages of searches, one directly from its 100 airline searches and the second page was for more searches using other travel sites. As we observed, it’s cheaper to book with the other sites unmentioned. Take note, they are NOT a BBB accredited business.

AirGorilla Reviews 2016 from Customers
AirGorilla Reviews 2016-service
Are you wondering too how’s the AirGorilla reviews 2016? Well, we checked on TripAdvisor forums and it’s not doing any good since then. Once a bait and switch company and still a fraud till now. New customers are having similar complaints as the old consumers about booking for a particular listed airfare deal which once paid, will be shown as sold out and not available. As to one reviewer said:

“I visited this website twice looking for airfare, and when I went to pay, I was told the fare quoted was no longer available. Both times I was shown a low enough airfare that I was willing to pay for when the search originally started, but they were not willing to accept payment when finalizing the transaction.”

                                         +1-858-836-8982 (outside USA)

AirGorilla promptly says “Discover AirGorilla” today. I guess, we had discovered them a long time ago. On a positive note, yes they had changed and upgraded their page’s layout. However, they failed to win back the hearts of their customers. The travel site once offered unique vacation and holiday deals but within a span of 1 year they were left out. Being unique is nice but consistency should be a mixture as well. A business won’t work without proper productivity.

Volaris Reviews

The second largest airline of Mexico was initially known as Vuela Airlines in 2005, though ticket sales started in January 2006. Though the name was changed to “Volaris” in 2010, after the ownership had changed to Avianca with 50% and  Investment fund Discovery Americas with over 25%. The delivery of the airline’s first aircraft and the first (non-commercial) flight was operated in February 2006. Scheduled revenue flights were launched on March 13, 2006, with the inaugural flight having been operated from Toluca to Tijuana.
Volaris Reviews-aircraftNow, Volaris has grown rapidly with a fleet of 59 Airbus models which serve 65 destinations: (43) domestic and (22) international routes. Volaris operates at the following airports:

  • Benito Juárez International Airport (Mexico City)
  • Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (Guadalajara)
  • General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport (Tijuana)
  • General Mariano Escobedo International Airport (Monterrey)

Volaris InFlight Services
Volaris Reviews-amenity
Since it’s a budget airline, Volaris service on board is not classified to any but one of a kind exclusive accommodation on air. With Volaris, passengers are offered with their inflight menu to a wide range of meals and beverages, alcohols are allowed to be bought as long as the customer is of legal age. Kids are given Volaris Backpacks which contain fun games and a coloring book.

To keep customers entertained, the airline has Volaris TV, Radio and Magazine. Souvenirs are also available on board.

Volaris Reviews-on boardVolaris’ frequent flyer program called VClub started in 2012. The program is a membership that provides special fares, offers, last minute travel deals and other perks wherein customers can save up to 40%.

The Mexican low-cost airline was known to have a promo which started after the celebration of their seventh anniversary, wherein passengers are offered with 70% off in all flights and they do this annually.

Official Website, Mobile app and Volaris Reviews of Customers

Volaris Reviews-pageI am pleased with the overall design and functionality of the website. According to several Volaris reviews, the airline is really keen in providing not only accommodating service during the flight, but also before and prior to booking. The official site is user friendly and well organized which doesn’t give the hassle to other customers while booking or searching for a flight deal online. One funny thing they said about Volaris was “This Minecraft inspired airline can be the next flag carrier of Mexico.”
Volaris Reviews-mobile app
Unlike other low-cost airlines, Volaris has a mobile app for their PC services. Customers can find cheap tickets, promotions, review itinerary and have their boarding pass with them at all times. The travel app is available on App Store, Google Play Store and Windows Store.

Colonia Santa Fe, Mexico City, Mexico

Me too, I thought the airline was inspired by Minecraft, because of the pixelated logo. If by chance I will travel to and from Mexico, I will definitely choose to book and ride with Volaris. You might be wondering now, how I stumbled upon Volaris? Well, it’s the power of word of mouth and through that I was happy to write a review about this Mexican budget airline that offers more than a decent flight but also exclusive services.
