There are hundreds of different species of butterflies to be found in Panama.

The airport is like the life cycle of a butterfly that evolves in time from an egg during World War II and to a caterpillar during the inauguration by President Enrique A. Jiménez, now the Tocumen International Airport is in a chrysalis form on its way to its butterfly stage.
