Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.

In this review, we will be re-talking about Agoda.

Agoda came from the idea of its founder, Michael Kenny, in 1997 after he saw the potential of the Internet for travel services. One of the largest hotel booking sites now was originally established in 2007 in Thailand. Though, Agoda Company Pte Ltd. was acquired by The Priceline Group making them their parent company. The Singaporean online hotel reservation site and registered trademark of AGIP was founded by Michael Kenny. The aim of the company is to provide hotel reservations mainly focusing on Asia Pacific.

Now, it’s managed by Agoda’s co-founder, Robert Rosenstein, since November 2015. The 49-year-old CEO of Agoda is an active investor in Internet startups and has held various positions in ecommerce and online media enterprises.

How does Agoda work?

Agoda is known for using the Merchant Model approach in the online travel industry, for collecting upfront payment for room nights booked. We noticed that Agoda had updated their official site and had modernized the layout of the web page.

But, this didn’t affect the functionality of Agoda. It actually made it more look like a professional travel site. Customers can switch the option of searching from Room to Flights or vice versa. Agoda has a mobile app wherein customers can access the same services of the PC version on their mobile phones in iOS, Android, and Windows. The travel app lets travelers search, decide, book, and access information about Agoda. The recent update of the app really helped customers a lot in their own hand travel needs.

Conclusion

We are impressed with the changes and improvement of Agoda so far. Good job to them! What’s nice about Agoda is they don’t just want to look good, but also they also want their customers to feel good about them. However, we failed to find recognition awarded to Agoda, but this doesn’t make them bad; though, it is still safe to do your own research before booking with any online travel agency.

NokScoot Reviews

Thailand and Singapore had shaken hands to create a unique airline in 2014, more known nowadays as “NokScoot”. I pretty much know you have the hints to where was the name originated from. It was actually from Nok Air of Thailand and Scoot of Singapore. However, please be aware that NokScoot is a Thailand-based low-cost airline since Nok Air owns 51% of the airline. NokScoot had started commercial flights in May 2015.

The new merged airline is based at Don Mueang International Airport with a fleet size of 3 Boeing 777-200ER which cater medium and long-haul flights to China, Taiwan and Japan. Their company slogan is “Fly Awesome” and their CEO is Mr. Piya Yodmani.

On Board Services
NokScoot has two cabin classes inflight, which are Economy and ScootBiz.

EconomyEconomy – This cabin class’ seats are in 3-4-3 seat configuration and also provide enough legroom space with a pitch of 31-36 inches and recline to 6 inch. Passengers are offered with an inflight menu wherein they can purchase. As noticed, Economy Class has three kinds of seats Economy seats (designated as blue), Super seats and S-t-r-e-t-c-h seats (both yellow). These seats actually differ with their seat pitch and selecting a preferred seat selection comes up with a fee.
NokScoot Reviews-ScootBiz
ScootBiz  – the black colored seats in 2-4-2 seat configuration also provide enough legroom space and a pitch of  38 inches and recline to 20 cm. In-seat power is also available. This cabin class was actually originated from Scoot’s ScootBiz, this service provides complimentary meals and over 20 kg of baggage allowance

As is quite obvious, NokScoot had mixed the designs, ideas and overall creativeness of the two airlines, from the sketch human models, yellow-themed page and diverse services. The official website lets travellers search, book and manage their booking online. It also provides essential information regarding the airlines’ service, policies and contact team. The main page of the site also promotes NokScoot’s latest Promo Fare Deals.

NokScoot Reviews of Passengers
Since the airline is not a international major airline, there are no NokScoot reviews found on Airlinequality, Trustpilot and Airlinerating. However, we noticed a forum was actually starting on TripAdvisor. Let’s have a closer look.

On TripAdvisor, 13 NokScoot reviews had gave an almost perfect score for the Thailand-based airline. Majority of the reviewers are even considering their NokScoot experience as their best flight ever. Others have mentioned appreciation by: “Perfect flight” and “Beyond my expectation”. Overview
Since this is a joint venture of two popular low-cost airlines and even if the airline was recently established, it is safe to say that NokScoot was actually more interesting to fly with more than Nok Air itself. The two creative airlines (Nok Air and Scoot) had already build up their own reputation and standing since they were established. But let alone, NokScoot had made its own pretty face for just a year and a half.

This is a good example of a successful partnership of two countries. We are looking forward to hear more about NokScoot in the future.

The Current Chief-Executive-Officer of SilkAir is Leslie Thng. Before being appointed as CEO in 2012,  Mr. Thng served as Vice President of Network Planning for Singapore Airlines and has been a board director of SilkAir since January of 2009.

Silkair was established as an air-charter-company in 1975, after years of providing quality service for regional air commuters mainly from neighboring countries like Brunei, Thailand, and indonesia. The company made major changes to reintroduce the new name “SilkAir Airline”  to the company, as part also of the company’s expansion to India and mainland China. SilkAir Airline is a regional subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.

According to online customer reviews, SilkAir continuously provides quality customer service. The majority of the reviews talk about the crew, both ground and cabin crew, describing them as “friendly” and “excellent”. Introduction

There are many airlines in the world with a rich and interesting history. The first airline in the world to be established is the DELAG (Deutsche Luftschiffahrts-Aktiengesellschaft) the airline was founded on November 16, 1909. Some airlines were born in the midst of war, it is amazing how several airlines manage to stay alive despite such a  brutal past, but on the other hand this could be the reason they persevered.

Singapore Airlines was founded on March 1st, 1947 with its initial name of Malayan Airways. The 68 year old airline was introduced to the world during the aftermath of the second world war, now Singapore airlines is the second best airline in the world.

The current CEO is a singaporean, Goh Choon Phong, 49 years old born on April 16th, 1966. Phong is the CEO since January 1, 2011, before being the chief, he was the Executive Vice President of Marketing and the Sales Regions.

Being the second best airline in the world, millions of people have chosen to fly with Singapore airlines and decided the share it with the world through online reviews. A commonly mentioned attribute is the wide legroom each seat has in economy, according to customers the seats recline perfectly. The in flight entertainment was inspired as stated by some reviews, the choices for tv programs, movies, music and more is great. The entire process of checking in is very fast and smooth, customers were happy about that. There are four in-flight classes, first class, business class, premium economy and economy class. They also offer a suite exclusive for their A380 aircraft, each cabin is considered a sanctuary for each passenger. Privacy and comfort awaits for passengers who availed for this offer.
