Reviews 2016

1 1542

Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.

In this review, we will be re-talking about BeatTheBrochure.

BeatTheBrochure Reviews 2016

BeatTheBrochure was created under Truly Travel Ltd. in 2004, making Kumar Edara the President and Managing Director who had been doing most of the calls in 2005. The Indian travel entrepreneur was their asset then. The main office of BeatTheBrochure is located at Scottish Provident House with over 200 skilled employees behind the scene. It looks like their numbers are too many to be working in a single-floor small office.

How does BeatTheBrochure work?

Everything on the homepage seems to be enlarged to fully use the entire page space. However, some information is hard to find, because the layout design is a little cluttered.
BeatTheBrochure Reviews 2016-page
BeatTheBrochure offers categories for booking, wherein a customer can book a flight, hotel reservations, or a flight and hotel booking at the same time. Other functions include providing cheap flights, flight alterations, or cancellations; these can be processed through their customer service.

Their deals are divided by categories, which are the followng: the deal finder, holiday shortlist, and the perfect beach finder. Their target market is mostly vacationers looking for leisure.

BeatTheBrochure Reviews 2016 from Customers

There are not much BeatTheBrochure reviews 2016 shown online. But, the few ones had rated the travel site as a do-not-use-for-booking site. More specifically, some feedback are rating them between 1 or 2 out of 10 for their deceiving offers and deals. This has always been the problem of BeatTheBrochure. What’s more frustrating is they never acknowledge customers’ complaints.

BeatTheBrochure Reviews 2016-complaintsMoreover, it seems that BeatTheBrochure’s deal packages are not packages at all. One customer was confident that he would be able to pay for everything and only have to worry about packing his luggage. When he arrived at the airport, he was charged extra for baggage allowance; in the package deal provided by BeattheBrochure, everything was included. Another target for complaints is their customer service representatives; despite an open phone line for concerns, customers are having a difficult time reaching BeatTheBrochure. Is the company doing this on purpose? Because, there were several cases regarding this issue.

Conclusion

Price beat is a popular term in the online travel industry. The meaning behind it is simple: beat the price, gain something with low rates without sacrificing the quality, or rather, have your cake and eat it too!

BeattheBrochure hasn’t made a strong impact in the online travel industry; yet, they are already experiencing major operation difficulties. Something needs to be done quickly or their reputation will keep on declining as they lose more customers.

In this review, we will be re-talking about Airfarewatchdog.

Airfarewatchdog Reviews 2016

Airfarewatchdog Reviews 2016-George Hobica
George Hobica

It’s given that Airfarewatchdog is not one of the popular or major travel sites around. It was quite confusing as well to determine how did they start and when. Mixed company descriptions are shown online pertaining that Airfarewatchdog was founded in 2005, 2006 and 1998. At least we can assure that their founder Mr. George Hobica is also their current president.

Mr. Hobica was a travel journalist focusing on consumer issues; he was also a Marketing Manager for a large multinational company. Apart from being the CEO of Airfarewatchdog, Hobica has been in the online travel industry for 9 years and counting.

How does Airfarewatchdog work?

The online travel agency’s name was inspired by the President’s pet dog that is no longer with him now. They believe, with the guidance from heaven, his dog helps in the growth of his travel company. As the name says, “Airfarewatchdog,” his pet watches or assists in searching for the best airfare deals.

As we noticed, the interface of Airfarewatchdog hadn’t changed a bit in a year. Though, we got to admit, they made the right choice of theme color which is pleasing to the eye. But, it gives me the notion that it’s similar to Skype in a lot of ways. For some reason, when we were trying to enter our location it overlaps the search result and we’re stuck there and can’t even select the airport we are flying from.
pageOn a positive note, Airfarewatchdog lets customers search, compare and book for flight deals and hotel reservations online. They also have a mobile version of all these service, though it’s available for Apple users only.

Airfarewatchdog Reviews 2016 from Consumers

To be honest it’s hard to determine the current status of Airfarewatchdog, but since we last wrote a review about them, new Airfarewatchdog reviews 2016 were added up. Based on SiteJabber, the travel site is in a bad shape with an overall rating of 1.9/5 stars.

Consumers who rated this search-and-compare-booking site to be one of the scam. Plus, the lack of customer service makes travellers not want to try to at least book with them. They don’t want to wait for an email or personally visit the office in New York if things go wrong. For them, it’s not worth the shot to book with Airfarewatchdog.
Airfarewatchdog Reviews 2016-logoHow To Reach Them?
If you are looking for a contact number to reach Airfarewatchdog, they have none. The best way to reach them is through their email for queries (questions@airfarewatchdog.com). Airfarewatchdog also provided their president’s email (george@airfarewatchdog.com) to be open to all kinds of concern with regards to the travel meta search engine. Their head office is actually located in New York, NY and here’s the exact location or address: 70 Battery Pl # 504, New York, NY 10280, United States.

Overview

As far as we are concerned, Airfarewatchdog hadn’t made any changes in a year. Despite the complaints they were receiving last year and this year, none of those are even acknowledged. I won’t be surprised if the travel site is not popular because it’s already left out from the others.

In this review, we will be re-talking about Kayak.

Kayak Reviews 2016

Kayak Reviews 2016-Paul English
Paul English

Kayak was established by Orbitz in 2004. Initially, Steve Hafner and Paul English founded “Travel Search Company, Inc.” and it was originally headquartered in Delaware, USA. In the same year, the company’s name officially changed to “Kayak Software Corporation.”

As we all know, kayaking is one of the top activities done by tourists in an island of paradise. It was the best way to be one in nature. A kayak is a small, narrow canoe boat made from covered skins with a small opening in the center which moves with the use a double-bladed paddle. Someone even said that “KAYAK helps you navigate the complicated waters of travel planning”.

At first we thought, that was the reason why they named the travel company. But, during an interview, Mr. English said that there was no deep reason or symbolization behind the name; they really just liked how Kayak looked and sounded, as simple as that.

Why and Why NOT Kayak?

It’s been 12 years since Kayak started to operate as a travel business that provides booking and other travel-related accommodation. Kayak was able to build up their own name in the travel industry.
Kayak Reviews 2016-page
Kayak is travel meta search engine wherein travellers can search and compare for flights, hotel reservations, car rental services, and package deals online. The travel site is easy to use and navigate. They even have a mobile app wherein smartphone users can access and search for travel bookings while on the go.
Kayak Reviews 2016-mobile appTalking about its travel app, Kayak’s mobile version of its services was once recognized as one of the “Best Apps for Business Travelers” in 2013 by Travel + Leisure. Based on Kayak Reviews 2016, the travel app in the App Store was reliable but the Android version was the worst. Users are complaining that the travel app keeps malfunctioning that they end up using their phone’s Internet browser instead.

Basically Kayak was built as a tool to make travel problems solvable. Let’s see what had the consumers have to say with that…

According to Kayak Reviews 2016, either it’s from Trustpilot, ConsumerAffairs and SiteJabber. Kayak had garnered too many negative comments and feedback from its consumers. Even if the company’s description traces its roots from Orbitz, Kayak itself wasn’t able to maintain the good standing they had a few years ago.

  • Fax Number:                  (203) 899-3125

Conclusion

Kayak Reviews 2016-complaintsThe online travel agency is inefficient and inconsistent in the service they are providing; they might be getting more customers every day but they are also losing loyal customers on the other hand. Kayak should be more cautious with keeping than getting customers. They don’t even know how to acknowledge complaints, which makes it worse because consumers are getting more and more disappointed with Kayak.

In this review, we will be re-talking about CheapAir.

CheapAir Reviews 2016

CheapAir Reviews 2016-Jeff Klee
Jeff Klee

The American based travel site traces its roots back to 1989 when Mr. Jeff Klee had come up with an idea of making a travel site that will provide an easy access to find cheap airfare. This all happened in his dorm room at University of Michigan. CheapAir is a privately owned company and has been recognized in United States as one of the best online travel agencies until now.

In this review, let us check the services and credibility of the travel company.

How does CheapAir work?
Like the normal travel site, CheapAir basically lets travellers to search, compare and book flights online. Even without us mentioning it’s an American travel site, once customers see CheapAir it merely focuses on US destinations as featured on their site, the most visited states in US. Searching is categorized into fixed and flexible dates which help more customers in such case.
CheapAir Reviews 2016-page
Another good thing about CheapAir is their “Price Drop Payback”. Wherein if the booked fare price drops after purchasing, the company will guarantee a credit back for the difference. This service started in 2011 and it’s still on going.

CheapAir Reviews 2016-bitcoinCheapAir accepts bitcoin as an alternate form of payment for flights and hotel reservations. They also have a voice-activated flight search app, but only for iOS devices. This travel app once had won as one of the best apps and websites for travelers by Travel Weekly.

CheapAir Reviews 2016 from Customers
According to 61 CheapAir reviews 2016 on SiteJabber, CheapAir is just good at promoting services and bad in implementing it. One customer had to pay a penalty and suffer from a wrong booking, which was never close to a cheap flight. The consumer had even tried to contact their customer support team and he’d been on the line forever. He ended his review by saying “The site is a joke. Last time I use them.”

Other reviewers complained for extra, double and hidden charges. The word ‘scam’ is seen throughout the other CheapAir reviews 2016. So, tell me, how is it good to book a flight with them? If it costs you more by being deceived by the offer.

  • Contact Email:                     Help@CheapAir.com
  • Head Office Address:           26707 West Agoura Road Calabasas, CA 91302 United States

Overview
If you’ll remember, in 2013, Travel Weekly had ranked CheapAir on the 48th spot from the Power List of Travel Agencies in the United States. But that was like 3 years ago, since then CheapAir never had any new recognition or award. Maybe the CheapAir reviews 2016 had pretty much explained why they were inconsistent with their services and promises. CheapAir needs more improvement and needs to learn how to value their customers because that’s what builds a company or a business.

In this review, we will be re-talking about Red Tag.

Red Tag Reviews 2016

Red Tag Reviews 2016-Enzo, Joe and Frank DeMarinis
Enzo, Joe and Frank DeMarinis

Red Tag is fully owned by Red Label Vacations Inc., which is a Canadian online travel agency founded in 2004. The founders of Red Tag are also the owners and founders of Bel Air Travel Group, which are Enzo, Joe and Frank DeMarinis. The company slogan is “We’ll get you there for less!”.

Most of the time when we see a Red Tag, it often means it’s on sale or on a budget price. But did you know that Red Tag also means a building or an establishment severely damaged to the point where it would be unsafe to inhabit it?

Now, help me wonder if their company name was originated from the sales concept or actually a stay away zone marking? Let’s check how Red Tag been doing this past year.

How does Red Tag work?
The self-proclaimed leading travel site in Canada is just similar to other Canadian online travel agencies which offer search, compare and book options to travellers. They also offer services such as hotel reservations, car rental services, cruise, group and vacation packages. Their customer service number is shown promptly at the top center of the page, which also mentioned that 150 travel experts are waiting to serve customers on the other line. But I am wondering why complaints and Red Tag reviews 2016 show they are hard to reach?
Red Tag Reviews 2016-page
Let’s find out more…

Red Tag Reviews 2016 from Consumers
Red Tag Reviews 2016-complaint
It wasn’t hard to find Red Tag reviews 2016 online since the travel site is infamous for its fake deals and offers. One reviewer even ended up booking with a competitor site with a lesser value. What rooted him to book on the other side was the treatment of the said “travel experts”.

He even said “They had a reasonable price but I was treated less than respectfully as soon as I had a problem. I have booked with other online sites several times and I have never had such a headache even when I’ve requested price adjustments or changes. I’m not going to make any recommendation but I personally do not have confidence in redtag.ca.”

Red Tag Reviews 2016-red tagIn A Nutshell
Now, it is your choice if you want to still book on a doubtful site and be treated wrongly after having little concerns. These complaints and Red Tag reviews 2016 were not made up. Remember, it is still best to make research before getting a good-price deal. You might never know, that exclusive offer might be just a bait for you to book and lose your money without its purpose.
