Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.

Red Tag is fully owned by Red Label Vacations Inc., which is a Canadian online travel agency founded in 2004. The founders of Red Tag are also the owners and founders of Bel Air Travel Group, which are Enzo, Joe and Frank DeMarinis. The company slogan is “We’ll get you there for less!”.

Most of the time when we see a Red Tag, it often means it’s on sale or on a budget price. But did you know that Red Tag also means a building or an establishment severely damaged to the point where it would be unsafe to inhabit it?

Now, help me wonder if their company name was originated from the sales concept or actually a stay away zone marking? Let’s check how Red Tag been doing this past year.

How does Red Tag work?
The self-proclaimed leading travel site in Canada is just similar to other Canadian online travel agencies which offer search, compare and book options to travellers. They also offer services such as hotel reservations, car rental services, cruise, group and vacation packages. Their customer service number is shown promptly at the top center of the page, which also mentioned that 150 travel experts are waiting to serve customers on the other line. But I am wondering why complaints and Red Tag reviews 2016 show they are hard to reach?

It wasn’t hard to find Red Tag reviews 2016 online since the travel site is infamous for its fake deals and offers. One reviewer even ended up booking with a competitor site with a lesser value. What rooted him to book on the other side was the treatment of the said “travel experts”.

He even said “They had a reasonable price but I was treated less than respectfully as soon as I had a problem. I have booked with other online sites several times and I have never had such a headache even when I’ve requested price adjustments or changes. There are people who probably think that the Travel Agency business is easy to manage. Those people are naive, the initial part might be easy like setting up the website, gaining connections and promotion, but after that, everything starts to amplify. Having the necessary skills and knowledge is not enough, an individual should go beyond the standard and default.

Fare Buzz is a travel agency from the big apple, let’s see if they are as popular as the city of New York.

Fare Buzz started in 1994 in New York City, they worked their way up in the industry with their affiliations with vendors of travel services like Airlines, Hotels and Car companies.

The current CEO is Arnold Walter who leads the agency with his experience in business. The company focuses on promoting deals to business professionals who travel frequently.

Customer Feedback

There aren’t any recent reviews for Fare Buzz for other websites which tell us that the agency is not that popular since there are a lot of bigger agencies out there. Well, they have their own “client testimonials” page on their website, and most of the reviews are positive, very positive. Reviews outside of their website would probably be more credible because there is the possibility for the testimonials on their site to be bias, just a possibility.

There were reviews on their facebook page but only a few. The reviews are positive saying that the agency provides great price rates and was able to grow productively in the industry. Customers also submitted their reviews on Tripadvisor.com recommending travelers to do business with Fare Buzz without hesitation.

Of course, negative reviews can’t be avoided, some previous customers dissuaded future customers on dealing with Fare Buzz and just went straight to the travel companies. One traveler even called fare buzz a “third party agent.”

It would be better for Fare Buzz to receive more reviews, either positive or negative ones, that way the agency starts to make some noise or in their case, start buzzing.

Their interface is without a doubt, the same as most travel sites. Customers can book flight deals, hotel reservations, car rentals and vacations easily. Fare Buzz allows customers to look for cheap flights and cheap business class flights. Other than promoting deals right on their homepage, Fare Buzz provide promos from time to time, for example a $10 off on all flights for limited time only.

There is a list on the homepage for top ten Airlines and destinations, for international and domestic.

One more thing, they show a service and fare percent rating on their homepage to gain customer attention.

Their customer and sales service phone support is open from 9am to midnight EST on weekdays and 9am to 8pm EST on weekends. They also include their fax number on their contact page.

They provide email support for feedback and concerns, most of the emails sent to them are positive reviews which they post on their homepage. They also provide a FAQs page for customers to easily gain access to information.

If the testimonials on their website are credible, then Fare Buzz is doing a great job. However, there are also agencies who do the same thing, but receive a lot of negative reviews outside their website. Maybe reviews for Fare Buzz might start appearing one by one, so that their travelers can have a credible source of online feedback.

What people are saying

Gulf Air got a 5 out of 10 star rating on Airlinequality.com and a 5.5 out of 7 star rating on Airlineratings.com. Looks like Gulf Air is somewhere in the middle between good and bad service.

Their in flight service was complimented by many reviews. One traveler said that the attendants were very friendly “even to the most annoying passengers.”

The ample seats were comfortable since many of the reviews gave the seat comfort 4 and 5 star ratings. However, their food on board left a bad taste with some customers. There were complaints about the food being unsatisfactory and their in flight entertainment was very poor. One traveler compared Gulf Air to Emirates and Etihad, he was disappointed with Gulf Air for their poor service, unlike when he flew with Emirates and Etihad. Most of the reviews had something good and bad to say about the Airline.

Airfarewatchdog isn’t actually the most popular kid, there are minimal reviews for the agency. The most recent one is dated back in March, 2015. Unfortunately, the reviews are not that pleasant, the positive reviews are way back in 2011.

One traveler shared her experience regarding the credible deals provided by Airfarewatchdog, she considered the company to be well-operated and reliable. One thing to consider is that there are very few reviews like this one.

It’s hard to determine the current stature of Airfarewatchdog right now since there are not many reviews or forums about the agency.

Most Airlines are owned by a country, someone or a group. Defining the word independent is very important when it comes to the airline industry. An individual creates his legacy if he managed to build an entire airline on his own with no stakeholders or supporters at all, but that is next to impossible, unless that someone is as rich as Richie Rich.

Being independent is never possible at first, but when you witness your company grow, little by little you start cutting strings.

Air Nostrum has 6 shareholders meaning the company’s ownership is divided. The biggest percent share belongs to Carlos Bertomeu, founder and CEO of Air Nostrum since its establishment on May 23rd, 1994, year of the dog. Bertomeu may have the biggest share, but he still needed help so ownership is not absolute.

The first flight took flight on December 15th, 1994, a Fokker 50 Turboprop aircraft marked the inauguration of Air Nostrum. The flight was from Valencia finding its way to bilbao with 16 passengers aboard.

Customer Feedback

Air Nostrum managed to retain its 83rd spot on the top 100 airlines by SkyTrax 2015. The airline got a 5 out of 10 star rating on Airlinequality.com. There was a mixture of good and bad comments, looks like Air Nostrum had its good and bad days.

There were reviews stating that Air Nostrum’s service is excellent from ground service to on board. Most of the reviews retaliate against each other. One traveler said that it was the most comfortable flight he’s ever been in, while another traveler claimed the seats to be cramped and very uncomfortable.

Iberia airline is Air Nostrum’s parent company, in one of the reviews a customer said that flying with Iberia was terrible and that Air Nostrum does their services better than their parents. Another debate is Air Nostrum’s value for money, some customers gave the “Value for Money” a 1 star while others 4 or 5 star, some of the customers who gave a 5-star flew business class. Air Nostum needs to keep a momentum wherein their service is always satisfactory, it may be hard but not impossible, but really, really hard.

Anyway, travelers are more concern of the travel process of booking flights rather than looking at pictures.

Baggage

Economy passengers can carry a one piece of luggage not exceeding 23kg. The same weight limit applies to business class passengers but they can bring 2 luggage.

Air Nostrum’s main base is located in Valencia, Spain. The Airline has three hubs the Barcelona Airport, Madrid-Barajas Airport and Valencia Airport. Their fleet size is a total of 40 airliners and 39 to be delivered soon. Their fleet includes the Bombardier CRJ and ATR 72-600.

AirFare Review

They say simplicity is always a good idea to apply to everything. Many travel agencies proved this statement, but there is a fine line between simplicity and plain. Take online travel sites for example, some of them are beautifully designed while others stick to simplicity, that way people might say, “this company probably focuses on their business rather than the appearance of their company site.” Everything still comes down to the way they do business, in the end a company’s brilliance is determined by their service not the way they designed their homepage.

One customer was frustrated when AirFare didn’t give him a refund the same day he booked his flight. Most travel agencies allow customers to avail for a refund within the day they booked their flight, instead, AirFare offered him a change fee for $750. Another issue about their refunding policy, some customers were charged with a processing fee by AirFare.

Their customer service was also attacked by customers for being too passive and not exerting any effort to assist customers at all. One customer said that the representative he talked to kept on talking without listening to what the customer had to say and then hung up the call.

On Yelp.com, AirFare was considered a scam and a fraud for their misleading deals. There were several instances wherein flights were cancelled without notifying the traveler. What’s up with AirFare?

Their website is pretty plain, with a sky as their background, “genius.” However, the interface is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Booking flights and hotels is no problem, the question is, will the entire process run smoothly with no complications? They call their flight+hotel package the “Air & Hotel Combo Package.”

They provide a list of their Top AirFare destinations and Cheapest flight deals. Checking flight status is also available, all you need is your reservation number and last name. They even include a page for job openings for their company. One more thing to consider, negative reviews don’t only appeal to customers but workers as well.

AirFare’s call center for phone support is open 24/7 for bookings and questions. They also have an email address for concerns and for customers who have lost their confirmation number. Everything is included in their “Contact” page, including a FAQs page for general questions therefore information.

Sta Travel promises to provide the best deals possible for the sake of all customers. Unfortunately, the customers themselves says that Sta Travel doesn’t provide the best travel deals and are not reliable. One guy wrote this as the subject of his review, “Would not recommend this to someone I hate,” this is not even the worst one, another customer said, “Probably the worst Travel Agent.”

According to one review, Sta Travel tends to misrepresent products. To build up with this complaint, several customers claims that there are a lot of instanced when Sta Travel asks or demands for extra fees without providing any reason at all.

Their customer service was also targeted for being unethical and unresponsive. Sta Travel really needs to do something about these reviews.

Sta Travel services is pretty flexible, they provide extensive services and benefits for people working abroad. Everything is on the homepage, most customers probably have no interest to open their “about us” page anyways.

The mobile application helps customers manage their itinerary more conveniently. Most of the features on the website are included in the application, meaning, booking travel services through smartphones is a piece of cake.

Their customer phone support is not operational 24/7, but they are open every day of the week. Their phone line is open from 9:00 to 20:30 from Monday to Saturday and 10:00 to 17:30 on Sunday.

They also provide email support and to make things better, live chat support. Customers can submit their suggestions, complaints and questions through the feedback section. Of course they have a FAQs page especially for customers with disabilities.

Sta Travel’s main headquarters is located in Zurich, London and Australia. Through the years, the company expanded to establish branches in different countries like USA, Japan, Malaysia and more. Sta employs over 2,000 individuals scattered all over the world. Sta Travel was nominated for Australia’s Leading Travel Agency in 2015, Flight Centre ended up taking the award. The most recent award Sta Travel recieved was in 2010 when they were named as Australia’s Leading Travel Agency by World Travel Awards.

Their customer support also took some beating, one traveler was furious when he was on hold for 40 minutes and then halfway around booking his flight, his call was disconnected, so he tried calling again and disconnected once more.

Just like weather conditions, the future of an airline is unpredictable. There might be some ways to monitor the situation, but whatever the future entails for a company is a mystery. However, the difference between weather conditions and an airline is, man can manipulate the entire airline’s function and slowly draw the future he or she wants for the company.

Tiger Airways’ future isn’t decided, despite being in the business for over a decade.

TigerAir was founded on December 12th, 2003 in Singapore. TigerAir is a subsidiary of the flag carrier, Singapore Airlines. The current CEO is Lee Lik Hsin, he was appointed on May 12th, 2014, the day the former CEO, Koay Peng Yen left.

What people are saying

TigerAir only got a 5 star rating from both Airlinequality.com and Airlineratings.com. Their cabin crew on board is known for going on a “extra mile” with their caring and efficient service, many customers were very happy with the attendants checking on passengers every 15 minutes. Food is delicious according to some reviews and the seats are comfortable.

Most complaints pertain to delayed flights and results in passengers being over crowded in the waiting room. Some delays lasted for 9 hours and travelers weren’t happy about it. A certain complaint was raised about TigerAir’s baggage policy, this one traveler shared his experience when the ground crew asked him and others to take off their coats before weight-check, they did that in the middle of winter. The coats were placed over the luggage to check if they exceeded the limitation weight. The customer concluded that he lost the appreciation he had for TigerAir.

There were many customers who didn’t recommend TigerAir to future travelers, a few recommendations were there, but the negative comments really overwhelmed the good ones.

Vueling is currently the 97th best airline in the world according to SkyTrax. Why is that?

History and Present

Vueling was founded in February, 2004. “Vuelo” is flight in spanish, the founders added english gerund suffix “-ing,” hence the name.

Their first flight between Barcelona and Ibiza departed on Just 1st, 2004 on a Airbus A320. Vueling started out with only two aircrafts, now they have over 100 airliners ready for take-off.

Customer Conclusion

“Poor at communicating, ‘definitely not recommending this airline’,” these are just some examples of review descriptions for Vueling on Airlinequality.com.

They were given a 4 out of 10 star rating with almost every review rating them with 1 star. Another airline ailed by delayed flights, the travelers therefore, are the victims. Most of the reviews were frustrated about several hours of waiting and hoping for the ground crew to announce checking-in is allowed.
