New York

Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.

In this review, we will be re-talking about Fare Buzz.

Fare Buzz Reviews 2016

The New York-based travel site was established way back in 1994 and had been seated on a discreet position ever since they started. We already wrote a review about Fare Buzz in September 2015. To my surprise or more like disappointment, Fare Buzz hasn’t really made any changes and improvements so far. Well I know that I am not the manager of a travel company, but yet even after knowing last year that Fare Buzz wasn’t in a good standing, they never even tried to make updates. Now, we are starting to think that Fare Buzz was really built not to compete but just to blend in with other travel agencies during the 1990s.

However, we should be aware that businesses won’t be successful by mimicking things. Businesses need innovation, initiative and talent.

How does Fare Buzz work?

As mentioned earlier, Fare Buzz hasn’t made any changes and that applies to their layout as well. Services are similar to search, compare and booking flights, hotels, vacation and car rentals. Their toll free number still appears in red at the top right of the page. There’s actually an on-going promotion for $10 Off on all flights booked on Fare Buzz and it only uses one promo code: “FLIGHT10”. Isn’t that too general? The bottom part of Fare Buzz just provides more listings of their so called top flight deals and links to their social media accounts.

The privately held travel site is being led by Mr. Arnold Walter who for some reason recently announced the update they made for their mobile site which, apparently, no customer or traveller cared about. Talking about customers, let’s check some Fare Buzz reviews 2016:

After scanning through several Fare Buzz reviews 2016 posted online, I am now convinced and I am encouraging you guys not too book your stuff with them. Why? Name it: Flyertalk forums, Complaints Board and Yelp had said it all. This travel site is not reliable and not even close to accommodating. Feel free, check these out:

This is the only buzz that I wouldn’t give time to look into. I am really disappointed that a travel company from the famous Big Apple isn’t even using this place as their advantage. Seriously? With an 8 million population by merely the city alone, not a single person is even interested with the travel site? Now, I am starting to feel fulfilled to write a Fare Buzz Review 2016, because it didn’t just help me, but also other travellers who might be considering booking with them.

Stay away from Fare Buzz. Feel free to leave a comment below.

Roomer Reviews

The hotel search engine site was founded 2011. The idea began when one of the founders had cancelled his visit to New York but still had to pay for a cancellation fee for an unused hotel reservation. To avoid this particular hassle and problem in the future, they thought of helping other travellers who suffer the same problems every now and then.
Roomer Reviews-fundingWith the help of BRM Group and Waze, in less than two years, Roomer has expanded its business to operate worldwide. If by chance you are trying to access the Roomer that we are reviewing right now, please make sure it’s roomertravel.com. Since roomer.com is another and unrelated domain enaming listing site.

Founders Ben Froumine, Gon Ben David and Adi Zellner had rooted the idea of business from the origin mentioned above. Yes, Roomer now is a travel site that helps travellers around the world book their hotel room from people who can’t use theirs. Basically there are two options or services offered on Roomer. Either customer will sell their hotel reservations or book a hotel accommodation from their list (which includes others unused bookings).

As their company description say “It’s a win-win situation for everybody. Talk about good karma!”. Booking a hotel reservation while saving others is a cool idea. Not to mention, Roomer already has a mobile version of their services available in the App Store and Google Play Store.

However, we are about to break the good history and facts of Roomer.Roomer is actually not the best despite its creative and helpful intention. According to Roomer reviews on Tripadvisor, consumers didn’t actually save from booking with them, and others were complaining for overcharges and bookings they never made. Now, where did the helping part go described here?

But what really caught our attention was this:

On November 20, 2014, the Better Business Bureau raised concerns about Roomer and its print brochure, and requested that this firm substantiate their claims regarding the following:

  1. Saved $450
  2. Saved $150
  3. “up to 67% off New York, NY”
  4. “up to 84% off Las Vegas, NV”
  5. Unbeatable prices.

Roomer has not responded to BBB’s requests for clarification of modification of the aforementioned issues. And this business is not BBB accredited.

This can be considered as deceptive advertising or also known as false advertising.

Advice To Revise
Judging through several Roomer reviews and complaints posted online and based on numerous reviews by consumers, the hotel search site is not that efficient in providing the services they promised to help. Maybe because they just barely started in this travel industry? Well, I don’t know if that will count as a good reason to overcharging and hidden fees.

Roomer? I guess it sound more like a Rumor than it’s initial agenda. Because all offers and promises are just rumors.
