MIAT Mongolian Airlines Reviews

100% state-owned national airline of Mongolia was founded in 1956 with the help of Aeroflot and commenced operations with a single Antonov An-2 from Ulaanbaatar to Irkutsk in July the same year. MIAT actually stands for Mongolyn Irgenii Agaaryn Teever which means Mongolian Civil Air Transport in English. The growth of the airline had been slow but sure. Today, MIAT Mongolian Airlines has a total fleet size of 5 Boeing: (3) 737-800 and (2) 767-300ER. They are actually planning to expand their fleet by adding up 2 more Boeing 737-800 in 2018.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines is in the MIAT Building in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia and operates at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (ULN) to over 8 destinations internationally: (5) in Asia including Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing and Osaka; and (2) in Europe including Moscow and Berlin.

Mongolian On Board Services
MIAT Mongolian Airlines Reviews-business class
MIAT Mongolian Airlines operate a two class Economy and Business Class service on all routes. Wherein on board services includes magazines, daily papers in Chinese, English and Mongolian and an entertainment system to keep their customers entertained in flight. Meals and drinks are also offered on board and are guaranteed to be fresh and healthy

MIAT Mongolian Airlines Reviews-Blue SkyThe flag carrier of Mongolia has a frequent flyer program called “Blue Sky Mongolia” which is similar to other airline’s program on earning miles per flight and redeeming them for future travel related discounts.

The Official Website
If customers are not natives of Mongolia, please be informed that the page is in Mongolian by default. travellers have to click on the “EN” button located on the top right of the page to change the official site’s version to English. We personally love how the picture in motion appears on the bottom right of the front page that commercialize the Mongolian Airlines. Moving forward, the site lets travellers to search and book for flights, car rental services and hotel accommodation.
MIAT Mongolian Airlines Reviews-page
However, we notice that even if the overall appearance of the site looks really enticing, the navigation doesn’t go along with the beauty of the site. The option to switch the flashing images of the background is malfunctioning. Majority of the page still appears in Mongolian language even we changed it already to English. So in short, the official website is somehow unreliable.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines Reviews of Customers
Out of 25 MIAT Mongolian Airlines reviews, the airline had received a total score rating of 7/10 according to Skytrax’s Airlinequality. Not bad compared to what we had encountered with the lack of information and website malfunctioning. It seems like passengers are being appreciative with what MIAT Mongolian Airlines has to offer that the most recent reviewer said:

“From Ulaanbaatar to Seoul on Boeing 767. On time departure and arrival on this three hours flight. Cabin clean. Good seat. Breakfast good. Excellent staff service both on ground and during the flight. Fantastic scenery to watch during take-off out of Ulaanbaatar. Overall just a smooth, enjoyable experience.”
*This review was rated with a 9/10 score.

After writing this review about the national airline of Mongolia, it’s clear why the airline wasn’t included as part of the World’s Top 100 Airlines. Maybe because their official page isn’t functioning properly and there’s limited information regarding their on board services and cabin classes. On a positive note, MIAT Mongolian Airlines reviews leave them with a good background. At least, even if they are at a slow-but-sure pace, they manage to maintain a good standing to their passengers in and out of the country.

Royal Brunei Airlines Reviews

The wholly government-owned flag carrier of Brunei traces its roots back to November 1974, which is 41 years ago. They initially started with a fleet of two Boeing 737-200. However, they had their first inaugural flight in May 1975 to Singapore.  The reason why the first flight was after 6 months is because the airport (Brunei International Airport) was just newly built by then.
aircraftNow, Royal Brunei Airlines has 10 aircraft consisting of (6) Airbus A320-200 and (4) Boeing 787-8 which cater a total of 16 destinations internationally. The airline is still owned by the government of Brunei and headquartered in the RB Plaza in Bandar Seri Begawan. To get the latest and updated news about the airline, click here.

Royal Brunei Airlines has two cabin classes: Economy and Business Class.

Royal Brunei Airlines Reviews-entertainmentEconomy Class – passengers get to experience elegance kind of services with Royal Brunei Airlines. This includes the IMPIAN entertainment system that gives access to classic Hollywood films and offers a wide selection of music and TV series. The system has a Eco 9 inch personal touch screen. Meals on board are prepared carefully since they believed that dining on air should be comfortable and healthy. Just a reminder, all meals are halal (denoting or relating to meat prepared as prescribed by Muslim law.)

Royal Brunei Airlines Reviews-business classBusiness Class – The world-class boutique airline offers a more spacious business class which features contour seats that fully recline to a flat bed with 11% larger surface than the in-flight beds of most aircrafts. This provides optimum comfort for a peaceful rest. If compared with the Economy Class, the inflight entertainment 15.4-inch touchscreen has obviously a wider screen size compared to the other class, but can also has access to classic Hollywood films, and offers a wide selection of music and TV series.

Royal Brunei Airlines Reviews of Passengers
According to 287 Royal Brunei Airlines reviews, the national airline of Brunei had really been consistent with their elegant kind of services either economy or business class. Even if the airline only offers halal meals, no customer had yet commented that the meals are inedible yet deliciously prepared. Just so you know, Royal Brunei Airlines is an alcohol-free flight service which was a plus to some teetotaller. Through all of these, the airline had an overall score of 7/10 according to Skytrax’s Airlinequality.com

Even if Royal Brunei Airlines had been operating for 4 decades, they never cease to amaze travellers who are flying with them. I am hoping in due time to see their name as part of Skytrax’s World’s Top 100 Airlines. Because they deserve to be considered as one of the best. Brunei might be just a little nation at the island of Borneo, but obviously had shown a lot compared to other major airlines nowadays.

Their cabin crew on board is known for going on a “extra mile” with their caring and efficient service, many customers were very happy with the attendants checking on passengers every 15 minutes. Food is delicious according to some reviews and the seats are comfortable.

A certain complaint was raised about TigerAir’s baggage policy, this one traveler shared his experience when the ground crew asked him and others to take off their coats before weight-check, they did that in the middle of winter. The coats were placed over the luggage to check if they exceeded the limitation weight. The customer concluded that he lost the appreciation he had for TigerAir.

There were many customers who didn’t recommend TigerAir to future travelers, a few recommendations were there, but the negative comments really overwhelmed the good ones.

Vayama Review

Gaining a perfect star rating is hard to achieve for online travel agencies these days, because let’s face it, the service they provide is not that big of a deal today because of modernization. Probably 10 years ago, people would go insane upon using these travel sites.

However, no one can deny that travel sites provide a large contribution to humanity.

Vayama is one of those contributors who still dreams for a perfect star rating just like all of them up to this day.

Vayama was founded in 2007, and is being controlled by Travix International B.V., the largest Dutch online travel agency. Vayama takes pride with their affiliation with large airlines like Emirates, Air Canada and more. It’s not just airlines, but hotels as well, Vayama offers over a thousand hotel rooms.

Travix, Parent company of Vayama
Travix, Parent company of Vayama

All in all, Vayama focuses on these goals, provide millions of reliable deals and make travelers happy.

What people are saying

Vayama scored an average of a 5.4 out of 10 star rating on Trustpilot.com. 39% of the reviews gave the agency 1 star and 33.8% gave them 5 star.

Vayama Review on Trustpilot.com
Vayama Review on Trustpilot.com

According to reviews, Vayama is not that consistent with their service. Good thing is that the deals they offer are reliable and have received good feedback from customers, the bad thing has something to do with their customer service and unreasonable fees. One customer was fixating about Vayama’s cancellation fee of $50, he even compared it to Expedia which only requires $7.

One patron was furious when he had to deal with what he described as “horrible” customer service which fails to educate customers. He even mentioned that if a zero star rating was available, he’d give Vayama just that.

Some of the negative reviews on Trustpilot.com were very long, almost like a short story.

Vayama Interface

Vayama's homepage
Vayama’s homepage

Their website allows passengers to check-in online to avoid hassle. Travelers can browse flight deals, hotel arrangements and car rentals on the homepage. A gallery of advertisements is presented on their homepage so they can sell the deals quickly. The website also shows amazing pictures of destinations to attract customers to travel. One thing though, the agency might consider enlarging the pictures and fonts.

Customer Service

Their phone line is open 24/7 for customer support, they also included their customer support email on the “Help” page for feedback and concerns, and to assist customers with disabilities such as hearing impaired and muteness.

Their FAQs page is actually sufficient for general information, so their customer support phone line probably expects more specific questions.

Thier headquarters is located in San Jose, California, USA. The company surely plans on fortifying their reputation in the industry. They always make sure to provide reliable deals with the help of their trusted global partners.

Etihad A340-500 Aircraft. (PRNewsFoto/Etihad Airways)

When it comes to the aviation industry, SkyTrax ranking doesn’t define a company stature in the industry. The good thing about a SkyTrax ranking is that they ignite a more intense competition between companies.

In 2014 Etihad Airways was ranked 9th, come 2015, Etihad claimed the 6th spot. Let’s see how they did it.

Origins and Ownership

Etihad Airways is one of the youngest Airlines in the world. Founded in 2003, by President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan. This prestigious airline quickly rose over many others with these brilliant minds working as one.

What people are saying

Believe it or not, Etihad only got 5 out 10 stars on both Airlinequality.com and Airlineratings.com. Most of the reviews had something good and bad to say about the airline. One traveler said that his flight was “ok,” according to him the attendants were pleasant and attentive, but he swore that he would never travel 14 hours with the hard seats of Etihad. He also complimented the food for being tasty but served with small portions. One passenger gave ten stars to Etihad’s business class, he said everything was good and that he had an awesome experience.

Upon keen observation, passengers who flew economy gave Etihad a low star rating, while business class passengers ranked Etihad with nine and ten stars.

Looks like Etihad’s economy class needs major improvements.

Aerophobia or Aviophobia is the fear of flying. There is a fine line between people who find joy in flying and those who would rather take the train. The risk of a plane crash is very, very low, but not impossible, still flying can be one of the greatest things in life.
