Stockholm Arlanda Airport Reviews
Have you watched or read “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”? If not yet, then you are missing half of your life. The Swedish novel became a bestseller in the United States and was even turned into a major film. From the Swedish Movement and Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA was established. The second-largest clothing retailer H&M. The world-renowned Absolut alcohol spirit drink. Plus their unique gastronomy in the Top 5 foods in Sweden.
Those are just the few things we can thank Sweden for. Now, in this review we will share information about the largest airport in Sweden. Let’s take a look at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport Reviews of Passengers
An average score is not bad, especially if the most recent reviews are positive. That only means that the airport is improving its quality of service. On Skytrax, based on 56 Stockholm Arlanda Airport reviews, their overall score rating is 5/10. But like what I mentioned, their recent reviews from passengers are positive that they were given a 9/10 score per review.
Let me share the most recent reviews I am referring to. One of which was dated on the 16th of January 2016. Yannick Vaara of Sweden said the airport was not too big and not too small and it’s a clean airport with helpful staff. In this review, she gave the airport a 9/10 score. The airport has four terminals operational: 2, 3, 4 and 5. Terminal 3 and 4 operate domestic flights while international flights operate from Terminal 2 and 5. Sky city in Terminal 5, according to Stockholm Arlanda Airport Reviews, is the “main area” where the most restaurants, shops, banks, hotels and conference facilities are. It is the most popular area because of its great view over the “V-rotate” position on the main runway and because the airport’s biggest terminal (Terminal 5) is located next to it.
There are two information desks at Stockholm Arlanda Airport: one is near the Gate 61-87 of Terminal 2 and the other is in between Gate 1-10 and Gate F26-69 of Terminal 5.
There are actually several food establishments and shops located both before and after the airport security. To keep their passengers connected, ARN offers unlimited access to Free WIFI throughout the airport. Just make sure to select and connect to the network “Airport-Guest”.
In this review, we prepared a map for a guide of the time intervals that travellers will consume by just transiting from one terminal to another. A train to Stockholm can be found in Sky city.
Now, to know how to get to the airport from the city center of Stockholm, travellers just have to take the E4 northwards and follow signs towards the airport. If they are coming from Uppsala, just follow the E4 southwards and they’ll see signs towards the airport.
Location – Traffic – Service
Stockholm Arlanda Airport is located approximately 42 kilometres from the centre of Stockholm and approximately 36 kilometres from the centre of Uppsala. The international airport of Sweden is the main hub for Amapola Flyg, NextJet, Scandinavian Airlines, Norwegian Air Shuttle, TUIfly Nordic, Thomas Cook Airlines and Novair which cater international and domestic routes.
The airport is being operated by Swedavia and it has 3 operational runways that already accommodated 23 million passengers last year, making a 3.1% increase, actually divided to 18 million from international flights and 5 million from domestic flights. This is a result from their 25 nonstop-busiest flights to Denmark, United Kingdom, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Germany, France, Turkey, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Russia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Italy and Iceland.
Past: Originally the first runway was opened in 1959 and was used only for practice flights. But ever since 1946, air traffic flew out of Bromma Stockholm. The Swedish parliament decided to establish a new and major airport. In 1960, Scandinavian Airlines System started scheduled services using Douglas DC-8 aircraft to New York. Then officially on April 1, 1962, it was declared open by King Gustav VI Adolf.

Future: Stockholm Arlanda Airport had started their development plan since 2014 and is hoping to finish all projects by 2025. The following upgrades include a brand-new pier in Terminal 5 to accommodate more passengers by larger aircraft models, they will also invest in new areas to have more space for restaurants, shops and other new airport facilities needed. A sum of 7 billion was estimated to be the investment of ARN by 2025. They also have new plans for Terminal 2 and 3 moving all domestic flights to Terminal 4.

Based on Stockholm Arlanda Airport reviews, the airport had a high reputation to take care of, from the moment they started operating their mindset was to aim higher and improve wider. This kind of attitude led them to their obvious several awards. With those massive traffic, ARN can smoothly accommodate their passengers with exclusivity. I wonder how does the airport look up close.
