Shenzhen Airlines Review

Just because an Airline only provides domestic flights doesn’t mean their not efficient. Domestic airlines provide great travel services with affordable prices to local citizens in each country.

ShenZhen Air in China provides both domestic and international flights, meaning that most of the largest airlines these days started out providing travel services within their country.

Establishment and Operation

Shenzhen Air was founded in November, 1992, but their operation commenced on September 17th, 1993. The current president is Chen Zhiyong. Air China, the flag carrier of China is the parent company of ShenZhen.

ShenZhen has its own subsidiaries including Asia United Business Aviation, Henan Airlines and Kunming Airlines.

What people are saying

ShenZhen Air appears to be an average airline according to online reviews.

Customers say that ShenZhen Air has no proper control and organization when doing their job. One passenger was disappointed when he got stuck on economy class when he booked for business class, the attendants required him to pay extra to be transferred to business class.

Most of the reviews have something bad to say, including the ones who gave the airline seven to eight stars. One guy said that the only good thing he can say about Shenzhen is that the flight he was in reached their destination on time, right on schedule.

The seats complemented by some and was bashed by others. Even their complimentary meals were attacked for being unpalatable, some customers even mentioned that some flights only have sweet snacks and others, well no snacks at all.

Their website is pretty plain and non-engaging. Travelers can book flights, check-in, manage their booking and check flight status on the website. The idea of “less is more” doesn’t really apply to their website design. However, the interface function is fast. Promotion of special offers with discounts is done and availed through their PhoenixMiles program.

Customer Service

Customer support and domestic flights reservation phone line is open 24/7. They also provide email support so that even individuals with disabilities like hearing impaired and muteness can submit their concerns and questions.

Their FAQs page includes 17 most asked questions for easy access to information.

Just like most airlines, ShenZhen offers 3 flight classes, First, Business and Economy.

Their first class seats is 38 pitches in total and can be reclined to a lie-flat bed, each seat also has a built-in adjustment mechanism. Armrest, extra legroom, complimentary meals and mood lighting mechanism is available for first class passengers.

Their business class seats can be reclined to a lie-flat bed with mood lighting mechanism and armchairs.

The seat pitch for economy seats is 32 inches, the aisle gives passengers a space of 17.8 inch to move around.

Food and Beverage

Some of the reviews on Airlinequality.com mentioned that some ShenZhen flights doesn’t offer any food at all.
