What is Opodo?
Opodo is a European online travel agency founded by European Airlines, launched its first site in Germany in 2001. The head office is located in London, UK. In 2011, Opodo became a part of the European e-travel group. Since 2011 Opodo has been part of the European e-travel group eDreams ODIGEO. Amadeus owned the 99.4% of Opodo till 2011. However in February 2011 Amadeus sold Opodo for €450M to AXA Private Equity and Permira Funds. The 69 year old Italian businessman, Mr. Giovanni Bisignani, was the first CEO of Opodo.
The Official website and Mobile app
The official website of Opodo, recently changed the interface to make it user friendly. The huge image background shows customer flashes of tourist spots like beaches, museums, cities and other tourist attractions. At the right hand side it provides the online travel agency’s latest vacation packages with a reasonable price. The main feature of the website lets customers book a flight, book a hotel reservation and car rentals. The best number to reach them is: +0 044 800 368 3866.
The Mobile app is now available for customers to download. The feature of the app is to let customers buy their tickets, organize vacations, add website bookings, travel protection plans and push notifications for customers to receive exclusive offers. All of these features in one app is available in App store and Google Playstore.
In this Opodo review, this online travel agency is receiving a poor score rating by customers. One reviewer said “I request you all not to use them under any circumstances as i’m one of their victims. I booked my flight with them and after 2-3 weeks I received email schedule change I need to reconfirm the timing and there was a long delay therefore I requested my refund. First they sent me the mail with less £20 of my account when I ask they told me that they don’t process refunds, when I asked to speak to the manager after few minutes of hold they decided to give me the full refund amount £1290. But it’s been over a month now, No money and everytime I call them they keep saying they did not get the money back from the Airline as the airlines’ office in London is close to my workplace, so I went there. They told me I should have my money back by now and as they say customer assistant at the airline have emailed them about refund which she have CC me in but when I called them this morning they still were saying the same thing. What made me laugh this morning, when she said if we don’t get money from the airline we are not going to pay you. I’m soooo upset as they hold onto my money” this review was posted yesterday, 28th of September 2015 and the customer gave a ⅕ rating to the online travel agency on Trustpilot.
In a nutshell…
In this Opodo Review, the online travel agency is not in a good standing. Almost all of their customers are complaining about the delay in service, and unrefunded payments. As we try to check there’s just minimal information about Opodo on the web and with that limited information is mostly about their customer’s review and complains. I hope they are working on this matter.
