The main airport serving Hanoi doesn’t have much facilities even being the second largest of three international airports in the country (next to Tan Son Nhat International Airport).  An Information desk is located at the first floor of Building E near the domestic terminal.

There are cafeterias located on all floors of the terminal buildings both street side and airside. As with most airports, these eateries can be a little expensive and the meals are rather basic. There are quite a few souvenir shops, duty free shops and smaller ‘department’ stores within the airport.

Free WiFi is available throughout the airport. To keep travellers’ mobile devices fully charged, mobile charging areas are available in the boarding areas of Terminal 1 and 2. ATM, cash machines and bureau de change are also available at the airport.

Getting To and From

There are no car hire providers located at the airport though for means of public transport, bus and metered taxis service around the city of Hanoi.  The journey takes around 40 minutes and there are a few ways to reach the city.

Travellers flying with Vietnam Airlines have the option of using the free shuttle bus service which connects passengers with downtown Hanoi.

  1. Upon arrival immigration clearance is quick and bags are received quickly too. On down side at check in very poor signage and information check in counters only open about 2 hours before so one can’t check in early in order to drop off bag. Lounge at Hanoi average but does the job as very little else to do once you clear immigration
