A privately owned company called Airline Network was founded in 1992. However in 2008, it was merged with the Thomas Cook Group. Then in February 2014, the companies were bought by Dnata, a Dubai-based air service conglomerate focused on combined air services, offering aircraft ground handling, cargo services, and flight catering services. The company buy-out resulted to the creation of NetFlights.
Currently, NetFlights is part of the Gold Medal Travel Group and employs over 450 travel professionals. They have also partnered with 135 airlines and 40,000 hotels.
Networking flights with NetFlights
NetFlights has won several awards in 2014. Among these are the “Best Digital Experience in the Leisure, Entertainment, Events & Travel” by the UK Digital Experience Awards and the “Large Size Online Retailer Site of the Year” by the Online Retail Awards.
Basically, the web interface of NetFlights is too colorful and not that organized. I find it too difficult to use due to its small fonts. Add to that, not all of the customers have 20/20 vision. NetFlights’ main features are the search and book flights, hotel reservations and car rentals links. Travelers can also learn additional information about travel guides, latest offers, and holiday deals in the website.
NetFlights lets its customers check their flight booking on the “Log in to My Trip,” which is located near the bottom of the webpage. This quick link will direct customers to another page where they can enter their surname and booking reference number. However, travelers should be reminded that their booking would only be documented after 2-hours that it was encoded.
The most visited part of NetFlights is their “Today’s Lowest Fares,” where customers can get a list of the day’s cheapest flights arranged by destination, location departing from, and range of prices. Once a customer is interested with the offer, they just have to click “Check” and this will lead them to another page, which will compare the selected choices to other airfares by direct or connecting flights.
(In this review, I clicked on the first showing as Dubai-from London-£234 and here’s the result:)
Live Chat support is also provided by NetFlights. The option is located on the bottom right of the page showing the “Chat with us” quick link. After clicking it, the selected option would maximized on display for customers to type in their name, email address, and select from the types of concern available on the page.
What I noticed in the “Chat with us” page is that a customer can only choose one concern from the types of concern available. That, I find a little funny.
The Feedback button that you will see above the Live Chat service of NetFlights would lead to a pop-up page once it is selected. It actually comes on top of the previous webpage so that customers would be able to send their ideas, questions, problems or praise. The pop-up box also contains some suggestion topics and a blank white page, where customers can personally type their concern and put a title for their feedback as well.
NetFlights Reviews of Customers
I was really surprised while reading the various NetFlights reviews, I didn’t expect that an award winning and leading online travel agency in the UK is getting a lot of complaints. That just didn’t sound right.
Well, I guess it’s the same way as the saying that, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t.”
Customers keep on saying that NetFlights is a crook and a liar. The added that the information offered by the online travel agency is confusing and inaccurate. Add to that, it was a nightmare booking with the website, not to mention dealing with their dreadful customer service.
I got all of these from Trustpilot.com, imagine what else could be dug from other websites?
Here’s one recent review published regarding NetFlights. Obviously, the customer was unhappy that he ended-up giving the online travel agency a 1 out 5-rating on October 8th, 2015.

Judging from the different NetFlights reviews on the Internet, the online travel agency is keeping the status quo by sticking with its known strategy in the aviation business, which is the customer-first plan. However, given the numerous complaints continuously published almost everyday, I think NetFlights should improve (not necessarily change) their game plan or else they will lose the favor of their customers in time.
Maybe the change of leadership in the company due to several mergers in the past greatly affected growth of NetFlights.
