Kempegowda International Airport Reviews-Kempe Gowda I
Kempe Gowda I

Past and Present: Initially the airport traces its roots back to March 2008 as “Bengaluru International Airport” but due to delay in air traffic control the official inauguration date of airport was on May 24, 2008. However, in 2009 the name of the airport was changed to “Kempegowda International Airport” which actually follows the name of the founder of Bengaluru, Mr. Kempe Gowda I.

Future: It is stated above that the airline has only one runway and one terminal. In December 2015, they started a stage planning of a second runway and terminal, said by sources in the Infrastructure Development Department (IDD). This plan was actually due to the phenomenal growth of air passenger capacity to reach 18 million or more this year.

Overview
If you would base your thoughts from Kempegowda International Airport reviews you will be unsatisfied, but if you’ll briefly observe the overall performance and services of BLR, you will realize that the airport is just like its own country: surviving and improving.

Unlike other airports, the Kempegowda International Airport was just recently established, but they had already been ranked last year in the World’s Top 100 Airports of 2015 at the 64th spot. I guess it is better not to judge the airport, but I personally will recommend this airport over another airport in India.

  1. While there may not be much shopping in the conventional sense there is an excellent and serious bookshop better than I’ve seen in any airport. It is well worth a browse through – you’re sure to find a treasure or two.
