Jetblue Review

It’s very hard for airlines to come up with ideas to stand out these days. Thinking outside-of-the-box simply isn’t enough anymore, no one knows who will be the first to think of something new.

That’s why it is exciting to look forward to what the future has in store for the airline industry.

One airline to consider is Jetblue. Jetblue Airlines currently ranks 50th place of “Top 100 Airlines in the World” according to SkyTrax.

History and Present

David Neeleman founded the airline in 1999, the initial plan was announced in February the same year with the airline name “Newair.”

The current CEO and President is 48 years old Robin Hayes. Hayes became the president on January 1st, 2014 and the CEO on February 16th, 2015. He had been serving Jetblue since 2008 when he was the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President.

Customer Conclusion

Jetblue was given a 6 out of 10 star rating on Airlinequality.com and Airlineratings.com and is rated a 4 star airline. Most of the recent reviews gave Jetblue a 1 out of 10 star rating.

Their customer service seems  inefficient because most of the reviews state that their representative do not do their job very well and are sometimes rude to customers.

One traveler called customer service to ask about the delay, the representative claimed that it was the passenger’s fault for not being attentive when the pilot made the announcement. Their on board seats were also said to be uncomfortable and provide minimal space.

On the other hand, there are passengers claiming that Jetblue provides great ground and inflight service, they also say that all of the attendants are very kind and helpful. Some customers even said that their expectations for Jetblue were exceeded by their efficient travel service. Since Jetblue managed to receive a 6 star rating, it means that they managed to satisfy almost half or more of their customers.

Since their airline name is Jetblue, their website’s main color is blue, not important. On the “Plan a Trip” section, customers can easily book for different travel services including flights, vacations, hotels, car rentals and cruises. So with the look of  things, Jetblue is also an online travel agency providing cheap deals to travelers, of course they guarantee the cheapest possible and reasonable prices.

Everything can be done on the website, even managing flights and check flight status.

“Jetblue” – Mobile Application

Jetblue has a feature called “timetable,” it shows the daily schedules of arrivals and flights. Much more information is updated and distributed through the application, for example, customers can look at the vast menu of Jetblue and order whatever food or drink they want.

Customer Service

Their phone support is open 24/7, in all the countries they provide service to. Some countries can only call through landline phones including USA, Colombia, Bahamas, Barbados and Jamaica. They also have a TTY phone line for customers with hearing impairment. Their email support allows customers to submit their questions, concerns and complaints.

A “Help” page is also included for customers to browse frequently asked questions with answers for general information.

Their customer service received negative reviews for being rude and not being able to provide help. Looks like customers prefer to get information from agents rather than read FAQs. The thing to consider is that, customers usually call for specific questions.

Services

Jetblue offers two classes or experiences, the core experience and the mint experience. Jetblue offers a fare option wherein passengers can receive some added services according to the fare they availed for, blue, blue plus, blue flex and mint.

Core Experience

Starting with the Core experience. Passengers can relax on a reclining seat with 38” legroom and an adjustment mechanism to recline the seat to the position you want. Jetblue has a wide variety of entertainment like DIRECTV, Sirius XM Radio and JetBlue features. Indulge in different movies, tv shows, music, news and sports while flying 35,000 ft from the ground. The Core experience offers unlimited snacks and beverages to all passengers to satisfy their hunger.

Internet connection is essential these days, so Jetblue provides internet access while flying with their Fly-Fi broadband.

Mint Experience

Jetblue consider the seats in the Mint class to be “super-comfy seats” that can be converted to a lie-flat bed with a mechanism for adjustments. Each passenger can satisfy their craving for entertainment with 15” interactive video screens that include over 100 channels provided by DIRECTV, SiriusXM Radio and they can access the internet with the Fly-Fi on board.

The Mint experience serves small plates of servings with world-class beverages. Jetblue partnered with New York restaurant Saxon + Parole to provide delicious foods cooked to perfection. They also serve Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery, A Colicchio Discovery and Blue Marble ice cream.

Baggage Info

Blue passengers can carry up to 50 pounds for $20 (online or at kiosk) or $25 (at ticket counter). Their 2nd additional bag will cost them $35 and their third bag for $100 each.

Blue plus passengers can check-in their first bag for free there second bag for $35 and their third bag for $100 dollars each.

Blue flex and Mint passenger have free 1st and 2nd check-in baggage, but they have to pay $100 dollars for their 3rd baggage. For more information click here.

Conclusion
