What really caught my attention was actually the company’s name “HotelTonight”. It quite sounds a little erotic, but it turns out to be a new travel startup on a mobile application. In this review, let’s understand further how HotelTonight works, why the company was named that way, when was it originated and above all, is it reliable or just another fraudulent travel app?
HotelTonight’s idea was rooted from the founders’ first travel startups, DealBase in 2004 which hosts hotel reviews and TravelPost in 2008 which compares hotel deals. It was in December 2010 when Mr. Sam Shank merged this two ideas and launched HotelTonight in January 2011 as a mobile travel app that offers same-day only bookings. Initially HotelTonight was only available in in the United States and Apple products, but has extended its network to android devices in July of the same year.
It now includes cities in Europe, Canada, Central America and South America. It also extended its services to allow customers to book rooms up to 7 days in advance.
HotelTonight has a website, but will only provide a direct option to download their app. Apart from that, HotelTonight’s PC version shows the latest tweets of their consumers and some of their last-minute deals. Just a heads up booking will only be from tonight, tomorrow and next week. But again, the reason why they promptly ask travellers to download the app is because the only option to book with their hotel deals is through a mobile device or their travel app.
The travel app is both available in the App Store and Google Play Store. And based on HotelTonight reviews shown on iTunes and Play Store, the travel app’s functionality is crisp and the features are great too.
Speaking of HotelTonight reviews, let’s go ahead and check HotelTonight’s actual feedback from its consumers.
However, customers are NOT showing equal appreciation to how HotelTonight appears to be efficient. HotelTonight reviews generally focused on the travel company’s bad customer service which in the end will just make their customer unsatisfied. But what really caught my attention was some HotelTonight reviews are complaining about the app crashing or not saving information, that they have to uninstall-reinstall the app several times before it works again. These complaints were actually the reason why majority of the consumers ended their feedback with “Never again.”

Advice To Revise
I am having mixed emotions over HotelTonight. I tried downloading the app, it actually looks good at first. But I noticed the travel app itself was malfunctioning after I entered some of my credentials to sign up for an account. This made me doubt to proceed, since according to some HotelTonight reviews, this often happens after inputting their payment information then later being charged even they never had booked anything yet. Use it at your own risk. I hope this HotelTonight review was able to help you anyway.
