Please do not mashup goseek (Real Estate) with goSeek (hotel booking site). In this review, we’ll be talking about goSeek, the recently established hotel meta search engine which promises their users or consumers to find the lowest price available on a given room by aggregating little-known discounts and mobile-only rates to present what it says are prices as much as 20% less than what people pay anywhere else.
“Our goal for this year is to make sure we have lower prices than the competition on the vast majority of hotel results,” this was the statement of their founder Clem Bason. Mr. Bason previously worked with Hotwire as their President before launching goSeek in February 2015. Just a heads up, goSeek is a product of DealBase Corporation.
Go Seeking with goSeek?
goSeek service aims to help people find the very best value on their upcoming travel. The hotel site uses a single-minded approach which makes searching more significant compared to other hotel site giants.
In this review, we tried searching if their slogan for “Save on the hotel you want, when you want it.” applies to search results. We tried searching for a hotel in Falmouth, Massachusetts from May 16 to 20, 2016 for 1 room as 1 adult and here’s what we got:
Evidently the result page displays a comparison rate over other travel site giants like Expedia and Orbitz. But after clicking on “Get our best” we noticed this will lead customers to another travel site that provides that offer or will be asking customers to enter their email address to receive a link via email. Correct me if I am wrong, goSeek is just basically looking around for the best rates comparing to other travel sites and redirecting customers to them. Easy job. Credits to them while the effort really goes to the deal provider.
As one of the senior editor of Condé Nast Traveler, Mr. Paul Brady said “Hotel insiders can argue over which property offers the better value, but one important thing is clear: These GoSeek prices are well below the best rates found on other booking sites.” I certainly disagree because they are basically just seeking and redirecting.
goSeek Reviews of Customers
Based on Trustpilot, goSeek got an overall rating of 8.3/10 which is a good sign. However, the positive feedback seem fake and were made up to cover the complaints shown online. One reviewer even said:
“On April 14, 2016 I started looking for a room on your website around 4:00 am. I saw the Hilton Garden at Kennesaw for $22/night under Orbitz. So, I called Orbitz and informed me they cannot honor that price and now they are now aware of this.”
How To Reach Them?
- Website URL: http://www.goseek.com/
- Contact Email: email@example.com
- Head Office Address: 2831 St. Rose Parkway, Suite 200, Henderson, NV 89052
If that’s the case, where does goSeek really direct us to? Nothing. My advice? It is still best to search and book directly on your trusted hotel booking site rather than risk and be fooled by false advertisements. Less hassle, more assurance. We aim to provide relative and factual information for travellers to avoid any unnecessary scamming or fraudulent acts from other untrusted travel startups.
