ExploreTrip Reviews

The American-based travel site traces its roots back to 2010 and works as subsidiary of Mondee Inc., which is a travel and technology group based in Foster, California. To be honest, it was not specific when ExploreTrip started but it’s in between 2008 to 2010. No images or biography were provided about their current CEO named Prasad Gundumogula. In this review, we discover and chunk ExploreTrip to find out more details and to test their reliability as an online travel agency.

Explore and have a Trip with ExploreTrip
The travel site reminds me about FlightHub with their web design. However, ExploreTrip seems to lack information on their page, wherein FlightHub is easy to access and full of information. On a positive note, ExploreTrip had chosen a nice background image that will fit the overall appearance of the site. But I am afraid that their services look less convincing with the overall impact of the page alone. Just like other infamous online travel agencies with nice and striking company descriptions but the page and reviews tell a different story.
ExploreTrip Reviews-page
Let us try how the search page works. In this review, I tried searching for flights from February 8 to 12, route from BOS to AMS as 1 Adult in Economy Class. It took forever before I was able to load the page and see the results, which is very frustrating to start a search for a good airfare deal. I was even redirected back to the homepage, but I kept trying until I gave up the search. This is not actually good because, what if I was really about to make a real transaction? If that’s the case, they already lost one potential customer.

complaintsWhat do ExploreTrip Reviews say?
As expected, ExploreTrip doesn’t rank even average according to ExploreTrip reviews. On Trustpilot, all I saw was red, red and red. Well, getting a score of 3.9/10 pretty much explains why. Out of 8 ExploreTrip reviews, they are mostly considered as scam plus the fact that customers were actually pissed over their bad customer service which for them is the worst experience they ever had.

What caught my attention was a forum actually started in FlyerTalk about someone trying to book with ExploreTrip and asking for suggestions, replies were a landslide that consumers of the site were actually unsatisfied with their booking and refunds with ExploreTrip.

There you have it. Now, you know what to do? Stay away from them. I am not trying to be mean, but ExploreTrip is obviously not a good choice to trust with your travel bookings. FlightHub was actually better than this online travel agency. We understand that it’s difficult to know if the site is trusted or fake, we hope that we’re able to warn you just in time.

Feel free to correct me if i’m wrong, leave a comment below.

  1. I wish I never would have signed up with ExploreTrip. It has been a disaster from the get go. Today I receive an email stating that I was charged $25 for a guest cancelling their reservation! This is on money that I never received, that ExploreTrip has been floating! Unethical, bad business model, powerless customer service.

  2. Worst travel company….stay away from it. Completely powerless customer service, fake names for CS personal ( all their call centers are based in India). The CS personal keep changing their reasons why they can’t give you refund after initally promising refund. There are other reputable online ticketing websites to book tickets. Just stay away from Exploretrip.

  3. ExploreTrip is incredibly unscrupulous and completely unethical. They fraudulently claim to be accredited by the following: American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), and the International Air Transport Association (IATAN). However, they are not listed in any of these organizations’ directories. Once I reported them, the logos miraculously disappeared from their webpage.

Further, they overcharged for a fare, due to a delay on their part of the booking process, which resulted in several hundred dollars more being charged than the original quote. They then relentlessly refused to refund the overcharge, and then avoided issuing the refund over the course of 4 weeks, numerous email, over 20 phone calls, and 10+ hours on the phone being given the runaround to the point of exhaustion. It was finally issued after the threat of reporting their behavior to state regulatory agencies.

WORST customer experience EVER. DON’T USE!!!
