Origins and Ownership
Etihad Airways is one of the youngest Airlines in the world. Founded in 2003, by President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan. This prestigious airline quickly rose over many others with these brilliant minds working as one.
The current president and CEO of Etihad is Australian executive James Hogan, who’s been in his position since September 6th, 2006. Hogan was born on November 28th, 1956, he grew up in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
What people are saying
Believe it or not, Etihad only got 5 out 10 stars on both Airlinequality.com and Airlineratings.com. Most of the reviews had something good and bad to say about the airline. One traveler said that his flight was “ok,” according to him the attendants were pleasant and attentive, but he swore that he would never travel 14 hours with the hard seats of Etihad. He also complimented the food for being tasty but served with small portions. One passenger gave ten stars to Etihad’s business class, he said everything was good and that he had an awesome experience.
Upon keen observation, passengers who flew economy gave Etihad a low star rating, while business class passengers ranked Etihad with nine and ten stars.
Looks like Etihad’s economy class needs major improvements.

Etihad only has 3 classes, First class, Business class and Economy class.

Seats in this class can be reclined and converted to a 15” fully lie flat seat, to make things even better, each passenger can enjoy their favorite flicks, tv shows, sport programs and music on a personal video screen with noise-cancelling headphones. On demand food and beverage satisfies the passengers with a wide array of selection.
Despite being the lowest class, Etihad provides the best comfort possible with reclining seats and touch screen tv screens for in-flight entertainment.

A la carte and on demand meals are served for first and business class passengers. Economy passengers have a wide selection of meals with complimentary snacks and drinks.
Each seat has their own power outlet for major plug types so people can charge their devices. Mood lighting mechanisms also apply to first class and business class flights.
The Abu Dhabi International Airport is Etihad’s main hub mainly providing travel service for the people of Abu Dhabi. Their fleet size includes Airbus and Boeing airliners with a total of 118 aircrafts.
