Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.
In this review, we will be re-talking about Directline Holidays.
Directline Holidays Reviews 2016
Directline Holidays was founded in 1993 as the trading name of Holidayline (UK) Ltd. However, in September 2013, Broadway Travel bought the company which led the travel site to change names into Directline Holidays. They are currently led by Maria Whiteman who replaced Matthew Flint as CEO in 2009. The co-founders Tony Bradley and Matthew Flint take the positions of Chairman and Non-executive Director. Whiteman has a long history with travel sites as an executive which they see forth as her advantage to be a leader.
One thing to consider about Directline Holidays is how their database gathers and presents information about deals. Deals from leading UK tour operators are compared with each other to find the best deals.
How does Directline Holidays work?
The main purpose of Directline Holidays is to promote affordable deals for flight and hotel reservations. Just so you know, since the travel site is basically the middle-man, Directline Holidays doesn’t include a checking-in feature. Customers are allowed to check their bookings if they wish to make alterations or cancel.
The world of Directline Holidays and most travel sites revolves around deals, so their deal promotion on the website is standard by showing a calendar with each date marked with flight deals.
Directline Holidays Reviews 2016 from Consumers
There were not much Directline Holidays reviews shown online, but some feedback of consumers are shown on TrustPilot. The holiday search engine had garnered an overall score of a 4.9 out of 10 star rating.
Their service is considered poor and lacking; there were several cases of misleading deals with questionable prices. One customer found the deal he wanted but was unable to book it because of the price rate, he then decided to book the deal directly from the airline. He was surprised to find out that the price rate on Directline Holidays was double as the one on the airline’s website.

According to Directline Holidays reviews, we shouldn’t trust this travel site. Looks like the travel search engine had been through good days and bad days. A mixture of loyal customers and bashers still determines the company’s current stature, but if they were able to stay alive all these years, who knows?
