According to customers, CPT is very clean and spacious. One reviewer even said that Cape Town International Airport is his home airport and it always gives him joy whenever he comes back to it. There are several restrooms located throughout the airport, though ladies’ toilets in the terminals are the only ones with baby-changing facilities. Showers are available in the Bidvest Lounges. In case customers need assistance, information desks are located in the arrivals areas of the two terminals. Cape Town International Airport is fully accessible for disabled travellers, with lifts, ramps and adapted toilets. Wheelchairs can be supplied if required, passengers are advised to inform the airline of such needs in advance. Dedicated parking facilities are also available for disabled travellers in the multi storey car park.
For money services, Bureaux de change and ATMs are available in both terminals, specifically in the domestic arrivals, domestic and international departure area. There’s also a full-service bank in the international area. For their smoking lounge, it’s located at the international terminal airside and internet access is available here.
Duty-free shopping is situated in the International Terminal, both pre- and post-security. Other retailers include a pharmacy, clothing outlets, bookshops, and gift shops selling local souvenirs. A VAT refund service is provided in International Departures. Food establishments are everywhere which include restaurants, fast food outlets, bars and cafés.
Cape Town International Airport’s WiFi availability can only be accessed for 30 minutes in which their internet service provider is AlwaysOn. If customers want unlimited access, the only option is through internet cafes.
CPT’s terminals are within walking distance of each other. A shuttle bus service links the terminals and car parks. But if travellers are coming from Cape Town, they have to take the N2 highway eastbound and follow signs for Cape Town International Airport, which is off junction 16.

Cape Town International Airport is located 22km (15.5 miles) east of Cape Town. The primary airport that serves the Mother City is the hub for Mango, South African Express, Virgin Atlantic and Lufthansa. The second busiest airport in South Africa and third busiest in Africa caters more international routes than its domestic destination with its 2 terminals and asphalt runways. In 2014, they were able to accommodate a total of 8,636,294 passengers.
Three days ago, a woman was busted at CPT with cocaine in chocolate containers. Officials found that the containers were filled with 200 bullets of an unknown white substance which tested positive for cocaine. To see the full news, click here.

Who would have thought that a port city in South Africa will be a home to one of the best airports in the world? I personally didn’t know about Cape Town before, but I know Cape Cod and that’s a place in US. Cape Town has surely enlightened my travel juices to visit South Africa soon. I believe it won’t be a waste to see their tourism, since they have an decent airport.
