Azul Airlines is a Brazilian airlines headquartered in Sao Paulo. Join me as we see how comfortable it is to fly with Azul.
Começo (Start) of Azul Airlines
The airline’s similarity to JetBlue has a connection because Azul is launched by the founder of JetBlue, David Neeleman, wherein the inauguration was on 15th of December 2008. In 2012, Azul bought Trip Linhas Aéreas, which was by then the largest regional carrier in Brazil. Azul Airlines started international flights by the end of the year 2014. The current fleet size of the airlines is a total of 149 aircrafts serving over 100 destinations worldwide.
Azul Airline’s main bases are at Campinas-Viracopos, Belo-Horizonte Confins and Rio de Janeiro-Santos Dumont. The airline has been a member of Star Alliance since January 2014 and been honored with “Best Airlines Partnership” with its TudoAzul program and its co-branded credit card by Itaú, which is the tenth-largest bank in the world in market value.
“Azul“ means blue in Portuguese, then you will realize why the airlines is called Azul for its all-blue interior in flight service. Azul Airlines have Economy and Business Class. There are complimentary meals like soups, breads, salads and heavy meals. As for the beverages, a choice of juices, soft drinks or water. Snacks are also offered on board for customers to enjoy.
Azul Airlines entertain customers by their Live TV powered by Sky on board, where passengers can sit back and enjoy 48 live channels or up to 9 channels with recorded programming. However customers are advised to use their personal headphones to enjoy their inflight entertainment.
Official Website and Mobile App
The first step customers have to do is to change the language of the official website because it’s in Portuguese in default. The language selector is located on the top right of the page. The flag of USA is showing so customers can easily see that the flag stands for English. Once the language is changed you will see the beauty of Azul Airline’s official website.
However given the shades of blue color layout, the features are limited. Customers can search for airfares either one-way, roundtrip or multi-city and check-in online. There’s no option to book hotel reservations and car rentals like the other airlines have. Options like airline policies and view to in flight services are shown if customer will hover their mouse to the top right of the page where “For Your Trip” and “Azul Experience” tabs are.
The Azul Experience extended their wings to customers’ smartphones ready to be downloaded in App store and Google Play store. The travel app of the airlines lets customers to check-in online, check flight status, book flights and have access to Tudo Azul accounts.
Been reading Azul Airlines Reviews recently and this is the main reason I started writing this review. Some reviewers are also suggesting for Azul Airlines. Let me share to you one experience of a fellow traveler with the airlines.
She said “My experience at Azul was great from the departure airport to the arrival at destination. Check in was quick, kind enough, ground service is exceptional. Azul airplanes are great – comfortable leather, seat comfort is great. One bright spot is the onboard entertainment on Embraer 195 and Embraer 190, each seat has a TV with live programming and passengers are distributed headphones. The meal on board has several options for snacks and drinks for free. The cabin staff smiling and kind.” She gave the airline a 9/10 rating on September 1, 2015 according to Airlinequality.com

After looking through some Azul Airlines reviews, I can say the airline had been applying their culture to passengers.
