Ariana Afghan Airlines Reviews
After the end of the World War II, an American commercial pilot relocated war-surplus Dakota aircraft to Afghanistan and chartered air private service in India, since by then or prior to those Dakota aircraft, there was no air service in Afghanistan. Even if the Afghan Air Force was then existent, the Dakota were the first ones to fly for private air service and in recognition by the Afghan government. It was incorporated to an airline called “Ariana Afghan Airlines,” established on the 27th of January 1955.
Now, Ariana Afghan Airlines is headquartered at Kabul International Airport with a fleet size of 7 aircraft consisting of 5 Airbus and 2 Boeing which are catering flights to 11 destinations domestic and international. Since Ariana Afghan Airlines is the first and oldest airline of Afghanistan, it was obviously made the national carrier of the country. The current president of the airlines is Mr. Mohammad Daud Sharifi.
Official Website and Services
There’s not much information online found about what cabin classes Ariana Afghan Airlines has, but on their website, there’s an option to select from Economy, Business or First Class while booking. The page lets customers select their location, destination, date, duration and route: either one-way, round-trip or multi-city. It is also shown that if you book online, they will provide the lowest available ticket prices and they are even accepting Visa and MasterCard to secure customers’ online payments.
Ariana Afghan Airlines are more prompting in promoting their domestic attractions since the middle part of the page shows list of routes from and to Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan. Another good thing about their services is they let customers know the updates with their “News & Announcement” section of the page.
Ariana Loyalty Club, is the airlines’ frequent flyer program which lets passengers earn miles with each flight and save them in their Loyalty Club card for future use such as discounts, personalized services, flight deals and even upgrades to partner promotions. It’s quite sad that after all the years the airline operated only one Ariana Afghan Airlines review exists. It was posted on the 3rd of September 2015 and to be more specific, here’s the copy of the customer’s concern:
“I flew Ariana Afghan Airlines from Kabul to Delhi. Timing was good, but very crowded while boarding. The flight was enjoyable but no entertainment. Good and enough food provided. Very friendly and helpful staff on the flight. The ticket was very reasonable price.”

In The End
Though the airline’s name might not be famous, Ariana Afghan Airlines has 14 events of accidents recorded in their history, but only one fatality. This list was according to the Aviation Safety Network. Judging through minimal Ariana Afghan Airlines reviews and the incidents recorded, it is somehow safe to fly with the flag carrier of Afghanistan, but it’s still best to study something first before trying. In this case, I never knew about this list until I stumbled upon it or wrote about them.
