Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.
In this review, we will be re-talking about Airfare.
Airfare Reviews 2016
Founded in 1979, it had already booked millions of travelers to the destinations they desired. They established their website in 1996 to expand their travel service. Their main office is located in Washington DC, USA. They provide discounts for over 700 airlines, 30,000 hotels, and 25 car companies.
How does Airfare work?
Airfare.com provides cheap flights, cheap hotels reservations, and cheap tickets through its “discount airline consolidation” strategy. By buying in bulk, they are able to offer specially negotiated, deeply discounted airline tickets up to 70% off. But, what confused me was despite the said 70% discount, there’s another service, “Exclusive Airfare Discounts,” wherein customers have to join to receive the exclusive rates and more discounts after 70% off. This is not even reliable or convincing.
As we mentioned, basically, on Airfare, customers can search for flight deals and hotel accommodations as well. The bottom part of the page only shows a list of the cheapest and top airfare destinations and deals. Travellers can also check their social media sites by clicking on the links shown at the top right.
Airfare Reviews 2016 from Consumers
After reading through 316 Airfare reviews on ConsumerAffairs, the travel site hasn’t improved as well with how customers appreciate them. With a 1/5 star rating, Airfare had garnered more complaints this year than in 2015. Consumers are mainly complaining about unwanted and hidden charges shown in their bank statements and traced to Airfare.

Disappointment is how we generalized our experience after writing and discovering that Airfare hasn’t done any changes or progress since last year. Did they stop working already? Or, they don’t care less if they are not providing good quality service, but are just focusing on quantity in income? Which of which, Airfare is still in a bad shape and they should pay more attention to improve their web page and services.
