Air Zimbabwe Reviews
Air Zimbabwe was established on the 1st of September 1967 as an Air Rhodesia Corporation. However, in 1979, the name was changed to Air Zimbabwe Rhodesia to post the Smith-Muzorewa settlement. The agreement was short lived and was fully taken by Zimbabwe after a year. On February 1980, the airline’s name was permanently changed to “Air Zimbabwe” and followed the Zimbabwe’s flag colors for their livery. Air Zimbabwe became a wholly government-owned private company as Air Zimbabwe Ltd. on the 20th of November 1997.
Now, Air Zimbabwe has a total of 7 aircrafts serving worldwide destinations. The airline is headquartered in Harare International Airport. In 2013, Air Zimbabwe stole the limelight at Sanganai Awards when they took home three prizes: Best Overall Stand, Best Local Stand and Best Airline stand by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.
Despite the success of the airline, Air Zimbabwe faced a scam involving their former CEO, Peter Chikumba and secretary Grace Pfumbidzayi. Both were charged in the fraud case after defrauding over $10 million insurance scam.
Air Zimbabwe caters two kinds of services, classified to Economy and Business. Passengers are served with complimentary meals and drinks during long or short haul flights. Distributed meals vary from the cabin class flown.
The most common concern was that most of the planes are too old that they don’t even have an entertainment system offered.
Air Zimbabwe’s site was simply designed so that travelers can easily understand the functionality and the essentiality of an airline website. The background shows the famous Victoria Falls and an aircraft of Air Zimbabwe. To be honest, I love the overall layout of the site. Customers can book flights, check their flight status and manage their bookings. However, Air Zimbabwe wasn’t generous enough to expand their services to mobile applications.
Air Zimbabwe Reviews of Customers
The national airline of Zimbabwe got an overall score of 4 out of 10 based on Skytrax’s Airlinequality.com. However, on a positive note, the recent Air Zimbabwe reviews are showing recommendations and appreciation to the airline’s performance and services. Let me share the latest review backdated on the 10th of June 2013.
In this review, the passenger had an unexpected weekend off in Harare and Victoria Falls via Air Zimbabwe because it was the only option. He mentioned, that he took a deep breath before booking. On board, they were served with a reasonable snack and coffee, no delay flights and crew were 95% SAA as he noted. He was overall satisfied and had no complaints at all. He gave the airline a 10/10 score.

In The End
Based on Air Zimbabwe reviews and local and international news, the flag carrier of Zimbabwe’s crisis continues to mount. They are really suffering a lot now, but as we can see they are not giving up the fight even if the South African firm is now suing Air Zimbabwe for $54,000 following a botched business deal. Even so, Air Zimbabwe still responds to court summonses. This only means that Air Zimbabwe won’t back down, but I hope they’ll be honest with each case.
