Air Seychelles Reviews
Bored of the normal seatback and usual in-flight experience? Do you want more than just travelling? In this Air Seychelles review we will touch your wanderlust with their simple but elegant customer service. Brace yourselves. Fasten your seatbelt. Let’s take a ride and pry into more details.
Origins and Details
The merge of two airlines on September 15, 1977 by the Seychelles government is what started Air Seychelles. The merge of Air Mahe and Inter-Island Airways later on started its international routes in 1983 and by then was operating as “Air Seychelles” with their first inaugural flight from Frankfurt to London.
Effective on the 1st of July 2015, Roy Kinnear replaced Manoj Papa as the Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles. Mr. Kinnear is an ex-employee of Etihad, which the airline is in alliance with 60-40 ownership percentage.
The main base is at Seychelles International Airport with a fleet size of 11 and serving 10 destinations. Air Seychelles is in alliance with Etihad Airways Partners.
Did you know that Air Seychelles logo is an abstract image of birds and leaves which signifies their aim to evoke the Seychelles’ creole spirit. This logo was redesigned in 2011 and was recognized as one of the Top 30 Best Looking Airline’s logo in the world.
Apart from the logo’s recognition, Air Seychelles has been nominated since 2003 as “Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Business Class and Indian Ocean’s Leading Cabin Crew”
Seychellois Creole Services
Air Seychelles provides two kinds of services; Economy and Pearl Class. Travellers can enjoy gourmet Seychellois dishes and eastern and international cuisines with complimentary beverages.
While on board, customers are entertained with their on hand audio video on demand with a range of the most recent movies, TV shows, music and games. However customers are not really satisfied with this and they prefer using their own personal electronic device.
The airline also provides a separate kind of service they call “Air Seychelles VIP” which a traveller can fly with a Private Jet sponsored by Royal Jet. This service is a highly specialised facility offering exclusive and luxurious services for VIP passengers. To look into the majestic details, click here.
Etihad Guest, is the frequent flyer program wherein customers can earn Miles to use for their future discounted travelling, upgrading loyalty membership by converting into Tier Miles. To see more about the program, click here.
The Official Website and Social Media Sites
Here’s the main reason why I wrote this review after all. Air Seychelles’ official website really caught my attention with it’s colorful layout. The cozy choice of background of three travel bags over the sunrise reflecting the glass window gives a welcoming expression.
The services at Air Seychelles’ website lets customers search or book flights and manage their booking. The flipping effect of my trip and book flights gives you the techy feel of an iOS user. The header of the page is tabs where customers can read information such as inflight services, policies and Etihad Guest program.
Unfortunately the airlines hasn’t extended its service to a mobile application. However travellers can learn more about their services with their Facebook and Twitter social media accounts:
Customer’s AppreciationThis most recent review on June 4, 2015, the customer said he flew with Air Seychelles and the flight was very empty with just 35 passengers in each area. The crew in each class were friendly and professional. He even stated that the airline’s food was good and water was continuously offered.” He was happy about the accommodation on board and with that he gave them a 8/10 rating on SkyTrax’s Airlinequality.com

After all the Air Seychelles reviews, I personally want to try their VIP Royal jet. Who doesn’t want to experience VIP class? Hearing a lot recommendations and praise from their customers with small served destinations is a good news. This means Air Seychelles can be a good competitor to other regular airlines. Hoping to see them at the top with other international route airlines.
