​Initially, Air Cairo was established in 2003 just to operate charter flights to Europe and the Middle East. But just in 3-4 years, the airline’s growth was quick that it owned four new aircraft which made them upgrade to operate scheduled flights. As they are scheduling scheduled flights, now their fleet size is at 6, all consisting of Airbus A320-214s but in 2020 planning to expand to over 20 aircrafts.

Air Cairo operates weekly flights from Cairo International Airport to several destinations within Europe, which includes the following: Stuttgart, Hannover, Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, Oslo, Billund, Belgrade, Tbilisi and Prague and within the Middle East which includes the following: Jeddah, Riyadh, Al Gassim, Yanbu, Kuwait, Doha and Amman. To be specific, at present they cater to over 81 destinations. The airline is 60% owned by EgyptAir, and 20-20 from National Bank of Egypt and Bank Misr.

Their official site was designed simply and neatly. It promptly gives the traveler the option to search and book flights. Consumers won’t have to worry about language barriers since the site itself can be changed from English to Arabic, Norwegian, Danish and Slovak. Next to the booking option, customers can check-in online or manage their booking by completing the steps listed on the right hand of the page.

Customer Reviews
Air Cairo had been good at maintaining their service quality even with their customer’s feedback, well if backdated reviews are still reliable nowadays. According to Skytrax, the Egyptian budget airline had garnered a total of 3 Air Cairo reviews which rated them a total of 7 over 10. However, the actual reviews in 2009 are contradicting the score itself. A passenger gave them a 7/10 rating when she said:

“Istanbul to Sharm El Sheikh and Cairo to Istanbul: The planes were new clean Airbus 320. They didn’t serve us a hot meal only refreshments (butter cookies and a drink). Even the flights have been delayed for 2 hours on both ways I recommend Air Cairo.”

The only thing that some consumers find problematic with Air Cairo is their promotion located on the official site, which is actually written in Arabic and not understandable to foreign consumers. However, they see to it everything’s assisted, since they are rich with contact information on the bottom of the page. These alone make the airline adept in providing quality customer service.

  1. Everything went averagely fine but I am not fully satisfied with my overall experience with Air Cairo. Maybe because I expected much from this Egyptian airline, but it seems they failed my expectation. *sigh* anyway still going to fly with them, since I don’t have a choice
